Escape from City 17 Part Two released

Nice! I rarely check that part of the forum anyways, any harm in it staying here? Acting is a little shabby in places, but you’d expect that from a fan film, pretty impressive for the budget though.

All said.

Only a 250$ budget and they produce this… pretty impressive i would say. if i had 250$ and wanted to make a movie i would definatly call these guys.

If nobody criticizes these guys, how are they supposed to improve and develop themselves? The point of students making this kind of films is to specifically get feedback of it, especially the negative. Only then can they improve themselves and start working on even bigger and better things. People just don’t get it, do they. -sigh-

Same thing with music, arts, poetry: nobody ever dares to give negative feedback due to the stupid majority getting so butthurt over it and all the potentially good bands/artists/poets just continue doing the same boring uncreative shit over and over again thinking they’re perfect.

I get your point… and i could also give negative critic on the video but seriously… with the budget they had it was impressive… and off course with such a small budget there are going to be some things less finished or they aren’t going to have the best actors on the planet.

I’m just saying. people focussing on the negative is really not why they made the video.

I’m sure the same goes for the developers of this mod. they don’t make it so you can point out every single detail you don’t like later on.

I don’t get how the guy and the girl can go from just meeting each other to fucking each other in the span of what? An hour?

Also, I didn’t feel attached to the characters at all, so when the guy died, I was ‘meh.’

It might be the best HL2 fan film out there, but that’s like saying one piece of shit doesn’t smell as bad as another piece of shit; they’re both still shit.

boooooring

You don’t go out much, huh

Hi there. We met, and we fought off a great danger together! SOMEHOW WE ARE IN LOVE!

I wish there were life threatening danger and a hot chick near me.

not rly. the danger part.

You’re funny.

If you think that’s a realistic scenario, then you obviously don’t get out much.

I don’t like how they used stuff from HL2. Like you could see the helmets of the Combine units were exactly the same is in HL2. They just took the mask and rendered them over the actors’s heads. They could have at least used custom masks there are plenty. Nah, I’m completely fine. :stuck_out_tongue: You, on the other hand, appear upset.

Maybe they should have WRITTEN A SCRIPT before they started filming

And if they did, well. They shouldn’t anymore.

I mean it sure as hell looks pretty, but come on.

Is it even possible to

[COLOR=‘Black’]shoot off a headcrab while it’s been on your face for like a minute and a half?

Very professional and entertaining film throughout though.

Because fighting a war against intergalactic alien aggressors in a strange eastern European city is a realistic encounter.

This is the best HL-2 fan-film in my opinion. I like very much the horror scene at 11:29 where there are zombies inside the tunnel…very scary!

I was looking forward to this second part, since the release of part one. It did not dissapoint. Very well done with lots of half-life 2 stuff for fans to recognize.

In nitpicking mode, I would prefer a shorter version of the sequence where the girl is being suffocated by the face-hugger. The story may not be exciting or original but it was decent enough and made sense, so that is a plus for any fan-made effort.

I enjoyed it. All this on a $250 budget? Shit man these people have a career coming their way.

The headcrab scene really bothered me. It’s like that headcrab was de-beaked. (Lamarr lol) and sat there on top of that girls head for a minute and did not do anything. She should have died. Also Awkward that the bullet only killed the headcrab not the girl.
