I was surprised to see this finally coming out. Really high-quality fanfilm, and everything really looks like it’s from HL2 Universe.

That was awesome! It never ceases to amaze me the talent some of these fans have. Thanks for sharing that Karriz.
HOLY CRAP IT TOOK THEM LONG ENOUGH!
Must watch! :jizz:
Russian chick cant act much. However she’s a pretty thang. I can see why they casted her.
Kinda suffers from the same problem as that Portal: No Escape video - it’s really well made as far as video production, but other areas fall short, like acting and story and such. It didn’t feel very believable to me. Granted, for what it is it’s awesome. But it’s clear where their strengths and weaknesses are.
Moar bathroom, less Russians. Hehehe.
It’s probably the best fan-film of HL I’ve seen so far. When I saw it in my sub box I got excited since it was in development for so long.
Butt-Head voice It sucked.
Perhaps they should take someone up who better knows characters and story. They were believable to a point. (‘I haven’t been given a gift in over a decade.’ It’s a GUN. Why did he I don’t even…)
As an indie film maker trying to major in film, I had a orgasm watching the citadel explosion. But also being a Half-Life fan, I hate the writing.
The film seemed rushed in places but it was certainly an improvement over part 1. Hell; at this point anything remotely related to half-life gets me riled considering the lack of a new installment for the past several years.
Watching the blows to the Citadel (Teleport Core Detonation and the Main Reactor Meltdown) was orgasmic, no really, it was.
The images had been everything I had dreamed it to be.
Acting did need some work from here-to-there, but its still a step up from Episode One.
Sorry dude but your rating this the completely wrong way. Its a fan made short film, the acting and story is suppose to be not that good. If it was an actual movie (longer time and budget) then yeah they have no excuse to have crappy acting and story.
What annoys me the most is how do people like Micheal Bay still have a job and people with real talent, like the PurcahseBrothers, cant get into the movie business fast and start making movies?
Being fan-made doesn’t make it impervious to bad acting and story.
It was all right, but I’m pretty damn sick of shaky cam.
I could be really fucking critical of this shit on multiple points but why? Its a good film and fucking entertaining for a 14 min film from such a low budget and is certainly the best fan-film for HL.
Just accept this for what it is guys. Everyone has to start somewhere and I’m thinking this project from someone more interested in the filming / editing part and not so much the writing and casting.
yeah, criticizing this short fan film like it was anything more than a fan project is like criticizing a mod for being not as good in every aspect as a full price game… They also made this in their free time for fun I guess and I think it’s awesome
If the suppression field is down, i would like to procreate with the russian girl.
Joking aside, i thought the headcrab taking control of the girl scene was pretty cool. It was decently suspenseful and i liked how she used her own pistol (in which was given to her as a derp gift) to shoot it off.
Also, Strider’s stomping around blasting buildings FTW. I had to watch it again bc it looked so realistic and well done with the limited materials the used.
EDIT: heh, Gman even made an appearance. i just noticed.
