Episode 3 Discussion and Information.

Yeah, that looks pretty nice, but still it just a concept.

Time Doctor Freeman is it really that time again?

Heh it would be time at least for a teaser even if the game dosen’t come out for the next 2 years at least a teaser to keep us going!

Flash sites are so early 2000’s… It’s all about CSS now. (the formatting style, not the game)

This might sound a little greedy, but I don’t want an Episode 3! I want Half Life 3 - a full game! We’ve waited long enough. Hell, we should have had a 4 or 5 by now.

No, Episode 3 ftw, we need to know how story ends and stuff> :frowning:

We also have an HTML site that I’m assuming uses CSS. But the only part I really ever go to is the forums.

Actually, technically the episodes are hl3. Valve said it SHOULD have been called Half-Life 3: Episode 1.

So after Ep3 (which they said they were going to make a lot longer than Ep2) They’ll technically be making hl4.

Happy?

New Episode 3 enemy?

ā€œBlobā€

NPC_Blob & NPC_Surface were from a leaked particle benchmark. It’s thought to have been used mostly used for testing multicore-related stuff, but the leaked benchmark has some stuff about npc_surface using Hydra.mdl & the hydra textures could also be found in the texture files. That Alien Swarm .fgd info certainly helps my theory that the hydra will be brought back for EP3 as two separate npcs. NPC_surface probably controls the tentacles, while NPC_Blob controls the core/brain part that needs to be killed.

The giant tentacle creatures will make a comeback and they will try to rape you and Gordon will let them because he’s a butt slut like that.

Oh like you wouldn’t? :jizz:

Weirdly enough, a character I wouldn’t mind meeting again in Ep: 3 would be Odessa Cubbage. He was evidently an important figure in the Resistance, even if he’s a coward and a fraud and a blackguard with his fake accent and fake moustache :stuck_out_tongue: And by Episode 1 his reputation has clearly gone up among the rebels so he’s probably still alive.
I suppose I’d just like to see him again for the neatness of it: bringing back a one-off character, some visible leader for the Resistance in the Arctic, the fact that the character model he was based off in the beta was to be originally found on the Borealis and also to get some justice for the gunship incident. That was my kill you took the credit for, you charlatan. I made a space on my mantelpiece and everything.

Of course I also want to see Barney again, but I get the sneaking suspicion that Valve put him on a train both literally and figuratively :frowning:

Don’t you know? Odessa Cubbage is actually a vampire!

That’s why you never see him outside.

So long as he’s not the sparkly kind I still want him in Ep: 3. Even if it’s only mentioned in passing.

Oh I’m sure there will at least be a passing joke about him & their earlier storylines.

In episode 2, after coming back into White Forest after the Strider battle, barney can be heard saying ā€œGood job, Gordonā€, but is not visibly among the Rebels cheering in the garage. It’s probable that since Barney had done little to nothing of importance in EP2’s plot, he was probably cut from the game entirely because otherwise it seemed like a pointless cameo.

I’m sure that he’ll be one of the first things you see in Episode 3, and there will be a ā€œFans love Barneyā€ commentary track, like the bit at the beginning of Episode 1 about Dog. (although it would probably be more like ā€œWe received a lot of emails asking about Barney, so here he is.ā€)

I always thought it was a random reused sound file. Intriguing, the Case of the Missing Security Guard.

Well someone will have to be there to gloat about the loss of a certain interstellar headhumper :stuck_out_tongue:

As for Episode Three-

Hunters. In. The snow.

Hell yes.

Let’s hope they include reskins of the combine for arctic camoflage, that blue and black garb that they usually wear would be far too easy to pick out.

Until we get inside a building that is.
