Episode 3 Discussion and Information.

they wont make alyx die, Gordon’s ganna fuck her at the end of Ep3

the the paraphrased words of Eli "the reproductive shield has been turned off, the world going to need some populating smiles/nudges alyx

All the budding romantic tension between Gordon and Alyx is exactly why they’re gonna hve to get separated at some point, for extra tragedy points.

Gordon, stop turning on your flashlight.

Hope she doesnt die i’ve grown quite fond of the gal. But i really dont see her making the trip to a combine home world in say Hl3? that seems somthing like gordons got do on his own like xen.

Besides we have already seen one character go. so to soon I reckon.
Maybe Mossman’s around i think we could just see a redemption/sacrife story arch in ep 3 we havent seen that yet.

I hope that Judith Mossman dies. Seriously. As for Alyx Vance, she should stay alive. Also, I think we will see Barney in Episode 3. He has probably been at that Arctic base protecting Judith Mossman. Judith needs to die because she was a spy for the Combine and took Eli to Breen’s chamber in HL2. Judith is a spy and a traitor. Alyx is a hot chick who helps Gordon. Alyx does not betray Gordon like Judith Mossman did. And yeah, I think Alyx will probably tell Gordon at the end that she was just flirting with him and that she really does not want to make babies with him/ get romantically involved/ have pleasure sex/ etc.

EDIT: @Nosehole: Judith Mossman is annoying, not Alyx. Remember, Judith is getting her just punishment from the Combine since she spied for them and then joined the rebels’ side in the Resistance. Judith deserves to die. Alyx being annoying is not a good enough argument for her to die. If everyone thinked like you, all the annoying people in the world would go to Death Row.

like i said b4, we launch a massive attack on the combine world, where barney alyx cleiner…ect with 200+ rebels all following gordon infiltrate the combine planet, their objective, to keep the combine busy while gordon goes into the main citidel on the planet and blows it up like in EP1 only theres a time limit on how long the rebels can keep the forces busy to add the exstra chalenge (ofc on easyer difficultys the time would prolly be longer) but still, its not like my other post where all the rebels go in and take it over (earth was taken over in 7 hrs) but keep them busy since we are ready now and we have some knoledge on taking out some of the combine forces like striders and such

Edit: we use the portal that will probably be made in episode 3 to bottle nose (idk the right word for that) but bottle nose the combine forces at the portal to make it easyer on us then gordon will enter the portal when there is a momentary cease fire while the combine regroups, you help the rebel forces at the portal for like 10 mins then you enter it when the combine stop coming through (btw the portal will proably be big and be like 3 striders wide but its better than a whole feild) and gordon sneaks in to blow up the planet and then G-Man stasis’s gordon miliseconds from exsplosion (much the way he does in HL2 ending) and “thanks” him for his effors and he will be needed at a “later date”

I really doubt it’s going to turn out to be some massive attack (speaking of which, I want to listen to Mezzanine). Seems to me that once again Gordon will be the one to be specially equipped to do whatever it takes to stop the Combine (I have a suspicion that dog will be more prominent as a supporting character as well).

As I wrote in the Half-Life 3 predictions thread, I think the defeat of the Combine Emprie will go down more like this:

Agree, Interloper.

As for Dog, his little stint against the strider in White Forest was only preview of his role in Ep3. I just don’t see why Valve wouldn’t utilize such a cool character for the final part in the trilogy. Personally, I think Dog will bite the dust (until HL3). Alyx can always find a backup copy of him somewhere.

Lastly, about the gravity gun. What’s going to happen to the gravity gun? Will it be damage? Probably not, but it ever is, it’d be a somewhat “oh no” moment for all of us.

It would actually be pretty cool to see Dog go down in a tremendous act of heroism, although not before functioning as a more prominent NPC, perhaps half way through the episode. I could see that.

I don’t want to entertain the idea of not having the Gravity Gun anymore, it was bad enough losing the Dark Energy charged version in Episode 1. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t like the gravity gun. I admit that hitting someone with a toilet for the first time was cool, but i gets old fast imo.

I would also like to see Dog bite the dust in epic fashion, Alyx too. But that’s not going to happen. I don’t really mind if anyone in the story dies because Valve hasn’t made me emotionally attached to anyone. Although, I would be kind of sad to see Kleiner go. There’s something endearing about his brilliant nerdiness.

meh i alwas loved Dog, everytime dog leaves to go do something or like in HL2 where he goes ahead and leave us behind to protect/save us, i was like “nooooooo dog noooo let me help”

dog will deffinetly die :frowning: , i hope he goes with a bang , taking an advisor wit him

i hope if he does die (i hope he dosent) he does go in some heroic way, i mean thats only fair dog rules but hopefully taking more than just an advisor with him

In movie, dog that die alway die like a hero dog.

…or they’re knocked over like a piece of cheap furniture.

And must you speak like a caveman/tarzan?

That ain’t his fault though, i mean…technically.

Should be a touching moment if we were to hear Alyx say “Goodbye Dog.” hug

Followed by something very heavy crushing her - yeah, I’d like that :3

Haha what’s your beef with the broad?

She’s utterly useless ( aside from being a meatshield in the EP1 elevator battle ).

Valve just decided “Here’s a hot girl and you’re going to like her!”.
Wasn’t so bad in HL2, but in Episode one she really got anoying with the bad jokes and all that useless romance…
