EDIT: Fuck it. Never mind.
read some stuff first. It will help keep the people here from lighting you on fire
Actually i searched a lot and didn’t find anything about this kind of info. shame on me !
Look harder. And PS - you’re doing it all wrong. Wink.
There is another topic about Half-Life 3… some people also asked in there the HL3 vs HL2:ep3 question.
“The Google” as the kids call it these days, is a virtual repository of all things interview related that pertain to valve, marc liadlaw, doug lombardi and gabe newell. Not to stump your chance to use “the google” but through it, I found several interviews that stated that ep3 is the last installment featuring the combine but not the last to feature gordon.
So, https://www.google.com is all you need to know.
What i found though was something about Adrian Shephard from opposing force.
Doug Lombardi said that there was no current project or plans that include Shephard but they were still to tell another story about him.
“Developer Valve said it will be the last episode in the currently planned story arc, but it will not be the end of the Half-Life franchise, so Half-Life 2: Episode 4 or in a way Half-Life 3 might be entirely possible.”
“Mark said no fucking shit.”
Just a quick question here for somebody who knows a lot about the source engine and game coding in general, will the source engine be able to keep up with the next gen graphics standards? I know that the source engine has and will be heavily modified, but will they be able to modify it enough to compare to game engines such as crysis’s, Call of Juarez Bound in Blood’s, Fear Project origin’s and just about any game released recently?
And to all of those who will flame me about caring so much about graphics, I do believe gameplay is more important, but when a game has good graphics, you really notice; it really helps out a game a lot having the scenery is beautiful. And don’t say graphics don’t matter, graphics is one of the main reasons blackmesa is in development.

Check out Catz’ website and see for yourself. To me, graphics are secondary, as opposed to gameplay.
interesting. . . so who’s the bad motherfuckers gonna be after episode 3?
and can we have a proper source on that please.
Nobody knows who it will be after the Combine.
Source? None.
no source=probably untrue
So it’s not true that nobody knows who it will be after the Combine, or what are you trying to say?
Anyway, here’s an article that confirms that Episode Three is the end of the HL2 story arc.
https://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/35944/Half-Life-3-Or-Episode-4-The-Choice-is-Yours
If you ran Valve, would you tell everybody who the antagonist in HL3 would be before Episode 3 came out? That’s my point.
I hate how this shit always comes full circle in terms of information we already know.
I think during the helicopter ride your gonna have to shot down combine who are chasing you!
Ah, back to actual speculation. That would be cool, maybe with the pulse cannon from the airboat or the rocket launcher or both. Gunship/Chopper battles possibly, or an advisor pod. Then the hind is naturally to damaged to continue flying and so there is a crash and a hike and hunters and boom.
Or possibly Alyx shaking your arm, and telling you to man the turret before that.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
