Episode 3 Discussion and Information.

There’s no possible way for Valve to pull off a “game ends with main character self sacrificing to save the world” because there are NO external cutscenes. Everything is told through the player’s eyes, so if you die, there’s no way for you to be shown that your sacrifice actually worked.

The series won’t end with episode 3, episode 3 is the end of HL2, not Half-Life itself… so Gordon won’t be dying in this one, however, i think episode 3 will end with the borealis exploding and Gordon getting pushed by the explosion’s knockback and G-man speaks to him again. I would think Episode 3 will be a bit longer than episode 2.

I’m still imagining the end of Episode Three is the Borealis blowing up and the pieces getting sucked up into a “megaportal”…with Gordon unable to escape its pull (sort of like the end of Portal).

The last thing you ‘hear’ is a replay of the G-man saying, “Prepare for unforeseen consequences…”

At least, that’s how I envision it.

If I don’t get to fly a combine helicopter I shall weep

We never drove the Combine APC, =[ WE WILL PILOT A STRIDER >.<

I just hope they make it a bit longer Ep1 and Ep2 were great but a bit short

I think they were perfect in every way shape and form

edit: minus the lack of topless alex

they could of found a way to make them longer tbh
but rly i just want to play ep3 cant wait to slip and slide in a icy ship

Unless Gordon randomly acquires a saddle, a bit collar & magically tames a strider during a drug trip, that’s not going to happen.

Post pics.

The BIG secret of The Borealis is a giant Portal Generator. The G-man arms the generator, locks Alyx and Gordon into the room and sends them on their merry way to Xen.

If the Combine can tunnel from universe to universe & the resistance can teleport within a universe because of xen, why would Eli panic over that like they discovered some big doomsday device?

Because it isn’t what everyone thinks it is? I dunno

If it’s anything like the technology in Portal there is reason to be worried.

Right now in Half-life teleportation takes forever, uses a LOT of energy, requires technicians maintaining the device, and someone that knows a long string of esoteric coordinates to get it to work; not to mention the propensity for the sensitive equipment to malfunction at the drop of a hat. Aperture Science portal technology takes… a handheld device and a clear line of sight. Once you get from point A to point B the first time you never have to traverse that distance again, and if it’s possible to “tune” two portal generators (don’t want to say guns since they theoretically could be much bigger to allow for striders, for instance) you could have an instant pathway between any two points on Earth, or possibly any two points period.

Remember, because of the cost of teleportation in-universe the Combine are mostly restricted to local transportation (stated explicitly). If they got their hands on cheap, efficient portal technology they could divert their forces any way they wanted at a whim. A resistance would be nigh impossible with that kind of mobility supporting their numbers and existing technology.

i cant wait for EP3 XD why dint they show up at this years e3. and they were supposed to release either this year or last! :stuck_out_tongue: grr

Cockroach. :meh:

Personally I hobe that Gordon gets a portal gun. That would be awesome.

Don’t give your hobes up.

No wait I think I’m doing it wrong.
