No, I said that anyone who does not believe that an individual human life starts conception is in denial.
Baconeggs, that photo is irrelevant, a human is still a human regardless of how young he or she is. What else could it be? a giraffe? seriously it doesn’t matter if we look similar for the first 3 weeks, all creatures were created by the same God. Science cannot contradict Faith as I’ve said before.
Actually, I wouldn’t think you could go a whole lot further. Pigs, maybe, because they’re pretty similar to humans. But the further and further apart you get genomically, the more likely it is that you’ll need proteins that the genome won’t code for. To take a really extreme example, clams have a special cell layer called the mantle that secretes their shell. Setting aside all the other problems, if you tried to use a human genome to make a clam, you wouldn’t find the information you’d need to make those mantle cells.
And that would be me. Because it clearly isn’t true.
Have you ever even seen a video about prenatal development? it’s an individual human being at conception dependent on his or her mother until about the 24th week (babies can be born and survive that early). If you deny that fact, you are denying your own humanity.
What I see in a zygote is a potential human, not a human. And in my mind, they aren’t the same thing. Egg meets sperm, bam, we have a clump of pluripotent cells. What will they become? A human? A human organ? A chimpanzee? The possibilities are endless, and all equally magnificent in my mind.
Thank you for ignoring my evidence and pushing baseless ideas instead.
Truth is true because it is true?
RELIGION, CIRCULAR LOGIC WORKS BECAUSE CIRCULAR LOGIC WORKS BECAUSE CIRCULAR LOGIC WORKS BECAUSE CIRCULAR LOGIC WORKS BECAUSE CIRCULAR LOGIC WORKS BECAUSE CIRCULAR LOGIC WORKS BECAUSE CIRCULAR LOGIC WORKS BECAUSE…
Nope, its a part of the mother (the opposite of “individual”) at conception and until the moment it is capable of experiencing consciousness. We’ve gone over this already, why won’t this thread die?
That’s assuming that there is a god in the first place.
Because Cup o Joe lives.
I’m also an atheist, but that’s really irrelevant.
Cup o Joe makes a fallacious assumption that conception is the point at which human life forms. I say that human life formed ages ago, back when Homo sapiens first appeared on this planet. Human life is a continuum. When the female human forms, she carries human life inside her in the form of ova. When the male human forms, he produces human life in him in the form of sperm. When the human life in the form of ova (maybe) meets the human life in the form of sperm, the two human lifes (maybe) combine to form human life. That human life in the form of a zygote then (maybe) implants in the uterine wall and (maybe) continues to grow and divide. Eventually (maybe) that life begins to distinguish itself into different cells such as cardiac cells, skin cells, etc. Eventually still (maybe) that life begins to become an interconnected series of systems. Finally, after many more maybes, the human life is expelled from the body and (maybe) lives through the experience to form a human being.
THEN AND ONLY THEN DOES IT BECOME A HUMAN BEING.
Everything else beforehand was simply human life… much like the human life in the form of skin cells you slough off every day.
To deny that is to deny your own humanity.
Now, doing my part to let this thread die, I won’t post in it any more. I suggest everyone else do the same.
If you don’t know what animal it has come from, yes, it could be.
I remember watching a science program a while back about different animals in the womb; one episode was Giraffes, Humans and Dogs.
The difference between Giraffes and Humans was pretty much nil at the early stages.
QFT.
Religion is irrelevant here. His argument makes ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING SENSE. I wonder of CoJ’s ever written a proof… probably not. My geometry teacher would have a field day correcting his logic… :fffuuu:
Good, I thought it was just me.
It’s not just you bacon, this is making my head spin… not in the good way either.
On the other hand, Danielsango’s hypothesis also makes no fucking sense. Claiming the physical act of birthing transforms a nonhuman embryo into a human being is ridiculous.
You say hypothesis, but I don’t think you know what it means.
At least he’s not using ‘theory’ in the same context…That never ceases to get on my nerves.
'Cause they’re fun to believe in You can troll any given forum with 'em and have a hilarious time!
Also they are such a cool story - even Tom Clancy couldn’t think up this shit. If you support freedom of faith, then you should support my faith in conspiracy theories, shouldn’t you? It’s the freedom to believe in whatever you like, isn’t it? Regardless of whatever kind of bullshit it is. Or is religious bullshit somehow better than conspiracy theory bullshit? How so? I wonder…
Well, I think religion is bullshit, so I’m allowed to say you’re conspiracy beliefs are bullshit.
