And ontopic: I think the “DADT” law should be abolished. Not supporting faggotry, but either way you put it, doesn’t add up. Because only physical training can select those who are truly fit for war, not some stupid idea that if you love same sex you can’t do something.
I promised to provide my perspective on it so here we go:
I have not seen any valid reason to deny homosexuals from serving openly in the military. I’ve heard many invalid reasons (“he’ll look at my dick in the shower!” or “he might rape me in the middle of the night” or “I can’t trust that fgt” or “it’ll affect morale and unit cohesiveness in some vague and undefinable fashion”) but those are mere excuses.
I say, if they want to serve and potentially risk their lives in the course of duty, I don’t see a reason to say “No, you can’t.”
Why do some of you have such a negative view of everyone who serves in the military? They aren’t all gun-toting rednecks that rape children and can count to potato.
Hope you’re not referring to me, Acristoff, because those posts I made are actually arguments I’ve read against DADT, nearly verbatim. Whether those that are making such arguments actually are serving or have served in the military, I don’t know, but the “gays is uncontrollable!” is a very real (though extraordinarily moronic) argument on the other side.
