Weird…the first time I played through I got to talk Sandoval down from suicide, but this time I got a cutscene where he tries to kill me but then I get the info out of him. Afterwards he’s hostile and I have to fight him. Anyone know what the trigger for this is? I thought I had gone through this part pretty much the same way I did the first time…

Did you sneak into Taggart’s backstage are this time? If so, did you plant the evidence on Taggart’s computer?

Nope. I talked Taggart into giving up Sandoval’s location. I did punch through a wall, which apparently the bodyguards didn’t like, so they killed me and I had to reload a save. Maybe it glitched and made the game think I went the hostile route? Idk…

If you don’t use the evidence that you’re given, then Sandoval won’t get spooked by Taggarts’ press conference.

Hmm. Well whatever, I just ignored it since I already got the achievement on my first time. I was kind of disappointed in Give Me Deus Ex…after beating it on Give Me a Challenge, I was expecting the hardest difficulty to really test my skills, but it seemed just as easy or easier than medium. Sure, I knew what to do, how to do it easiest, and how to exploit the AI, but still, it should have been more challenging. All I noticed was maybe a slight ramp up in damage.

ok that makes no sense to me… having been playing this game for a while, I’ve been finding it really hard, in fact so hard it’s comprimising my enjoyment of the game. and yet I’m hearing its too easy?..

Did you save [COLOR=‘Black’]Malik during the part where the B-EE is downed in China? on ‘Give me Deus Ex’?

If you did, you’re crazy good. You’ve got about twenty seconds to do it in.

I saved her without killing anyone

I also found it really difficult on the first playthrough. Those bastards had to call it Give Me Deus Ex though, so I stuck with it and got the achievement.

You killed the sentry bot. :frowning:
I don’t believe you anyway. :stuck_out_tongue: (At least not on GMDE)

Also I saved her, but only on Give Me a Challenge.

I have pacifist. I didn’t kill anyone.

Just noticed the code in the beginning is the same one for that supply closet next to the helipad in Deus Ex. Just thought I’d mention that.

the irony is that I’m playing on ‘tell me a story’

Is it? I thought it was the code for the keypad during training in the original Deus Ex.

There are a lot of those kinds of references to the original Deus ex, and i’m noticing this because i’m only now playing the original.

Yeah, that code goes all the way back to System Shock 1. It’s a Ray Bradbury reference.

It was challenging for me for a while, but when you learn what to do it gets quite easy. I can give you some tips if you like…

Yep.

Ah, that would make sense.

And yeah, I think its in the tutorial and that storage room.
