Deus Ex Human Revolution teaser trailer (it's awesome)

Yes. They know how to make a trailer. Now show me you can make a game, and show us a little of what that will look like.

wow, thanks man

Crap, now I’m getting hyped again…

i just read that they are doing an exclusive for press only gameplay show at E3. seems they want to help the game guys writing the articles to have something exclusive to sell their magazines… shouldnt be long before they show some gameplay though… everyone that saw the demo is saying that the graphics are crisp and solid and no glitches are to be found. basically that it looks awesome…

And absolutely no indication as to whether it’ll be a proper Deus Ex game.

if you read the previews and the gameplay demo description you actually get the info that this one is gonna be very decent in almost every aspect. it won’t be deus ex 1, but it will be very comparable…

A game being good is a matter of perspective. You can’t read a preview and automatically surmise that it’ll be “very decent in almost every aspect.”

Its a matter of opinion, but how wrong can they get? everyone is entiteled to their own opinion, but i say that based on the things that are known now about the game, its gonna be great! If you saw the ps3 screenshots… just imagine high res textures and aa and you have a winner (yeah on graphical part only). but so far i havent heard a thing that votes badly for the game, only people that were worried that it would be a repitition of deus ex 2, which it clearly is NOT. just read the previews and look at the official faq at eidos. then check the kick ass trailer again and you’ll know what i mean… or not. anyway, thats your opinion.

the new 3rd person view killing perspective is in my opinion also very cool, it makes it just a bit more personal when you gut somebody from behind (like in the screenshot). Deus ex is gonna kick ass at the start of 2011. I only hope very much that BMS will come out (long) before that game hits the shelves…

Are we making assumptions about the quality of an unreleased game? Also, First Person is always more personal. ALWAYS.

Wait, it’s not first person? This is an outrage!

What? It is first person, but it switches to 3rd person for contextual actions, like going into cover and stealth takedowns. I hope it goes 3rd person for conversations too, just like DX1.

Only momentarily (which could get annoying, we’ll see), but the guy above me was making the idiotic statement that third person is more personal than first person, which is like saying hovering above yourself is more like being you than being you.

showing the killing actions in third person makes it a lot more personal then in first person view. as you can see first person view is limited in almost every game to seeing hands only, while in reality you see a whole lot more of your body.

edit: plus you see expressions of the face, which makes it ultimately personal. so your opinion that first person is always more personal is actually the idiotic one…

No, you are using the wrong word. A well done specialized take down in first person can show the rest of the body and would be exactly as you see it. It is as personal as possible. What you want is different.

which you dont see in any game out now or being in development…

And how many games switch from first to third person to show a takedown? They don’t because more people prefer their first person games to stay first person.

Of the top of my head I recall Killzone 3 has that in it, and it looks fantastic. Crysis allowed you to pick up people and then throw them, or punch them to death. I’m sure there are many more if I actually thought about it, but those are the two that spring to mind.

Haha Killzone beat-downs were awesome.

Hmmm, sounds alright, movements like that are pretty hard to convey in FP.

it will probably have huge system requirements which pisses me off… games that were supposed to “push consoles to their limits” are working fine on my pc nevertheless even more demanding games are being made somehow, which work on consoles with stable framerate, but are stuttering on my pc. seriously… wtf
