Hmmm, I thought the trailer made it seem like a Prototype Clone, but the engine shots make it seem more like the moody secret agent game that was the original. The real question will be not how well they keep the art style, nor how well the canon is followed, or even how it plays. The real test will be if they can reproduce the enormous story and thousands of different dialogues for every action you do.
And on the topic of quotes:

My god… this looks so amazing. Hopefully the HDTP for Deus Ex will be done on or before this comes out so I can play them back to back.
It kind of does, now that you say something. However, the trailer had the augmentations looking robotic/mechanical, whereas Prototype was more biological.
I very much agree about the dialogue trees as well.
I suspect you’ll be a mech-aug in this game, since nano-augs like JC were cutting edge in the first game.
Yeah, but this makes mech-augs look fucking badass as motherfuckers, whereas in the original they looked repulsive.
If only Gunther and Anna had mastered the art of long sleeves.

Does anyone know any full single player coop mods for Deus Ex 1? It would make playing it a lot easier.
Deus Ex 1 cannot be played co-op. It doesn’t work that way.
Practically every level and dialogue script would have to be altered to account for another player. An impossible task. Besides, it’s not that hard. Just use stealth; full on gunfights generally end up with you dead unless you have overwhelming range on your side.
You’d say that about Half-life, but you’d be wrong. That’s why it’s called a mod.
Personally I’d suggest against playing the game entirely. It’s boring, at least for the first three levels. That’s all I could bring myself to play.
I’m not sure about my opinion on this… well they’re doing it for consoles so it’ll have to be dumbed down, and the graphics look excellent… which may compromise the depth and interactivity of the game…

Wow! It was difficult to tell if i was watching a trailer for a video game or for a movie. Good stuff. I just hope the dev’s implement the whole “your actions have consequences/ two alternative endings” gameplay, like in Deus Ex 1.
