deathrun map: deathrun_black_mesa

I am open to suggestions for the map, especially on the design.

My question is: from the screenshots, would you play the map?

looks good but isn’t deathrun a Counter Strike gamemode?

It’s certainly quite nice looking. Rock area above the helipad looks a little square, though, but that’s just me.

Yes it is, but when I looked for a map based on Black Mesa theme for CSS, I personally found nothing and I thought making a deathrun map like this would be an opportunity and an interesting idea to do.

The map file size will be high because it’s custom textures for css, but it doesn’t matter.

This part of the map (outside area) is CT’s spawn.

I would admit that the rock displacements look a tiny bit too square though, but it looks really nice.

As I don’t own counterstrike (nor have any real interest in buying it), I can’t say I’ll be able to play this map.

Make sure to give credits on your map to the BM devs for the textures/models that you use from the BM FGD.

It’s already done, I asked a friend to make a texture with the credits.

Quick question on that last screenshot. How did the barrels get in there? How would those barrels be accessed in the normal course of the work day if they’re behind the fence? I understand the pipes but the barrels seem to be out of place unless there’s a door leading to them.

Yes, we in fact got aware of that later when we started the Black Mesa Transit system part. It got fixed with a fence door.

It got replaced with 2 fence models.

Where is this map situated in the BM Facility?

This is a contruction zone where you can access it via the Transit system.

I’m nearly done with it, and this tram will take you straight to the labs where you continue the map.

When can we try this map? It looks great!
