Holy Shit!!!

These graphics are even better than Cryengine! Valve should seriously hire this guy.
It’d be awesome if somebody took this when he finished and turned it into a L4D2 map.

It is impressive, but there are no closeup shots so I can’t really compare.
Very impressive though.
thats cool and Dear Esther was rad anyway
i wishj i could just sit around all day modelling stalagmites & tites
Looking on-par with Myst…
i know someone who has been to the island from myst irl but the cia had him committed to hide the truth
What’s Myst?
and another thread saved by hercule poirot’s nutsack.
but yeah, that moddb page isn’t as awesome as that guy’s devblog.
Garthbartin, if you’re serious, I’m gonna have to murder you.
100% serious. :retard:
This in every single possible way.
Let me help you: https://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/myst_masterpiece_edition
And the just as good sequel: https://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/riven_the_sequel_to_myst
You clearly haven’t seen the CryEngine 3 at full capability then.
is this available yet?
nnot this version only the old graphics but its still cool
I don’t care if the Dear Esther graphics update ever gets released, it wont be myst.
Why the bloody hell is everyone talking about myst? The source engine is clearly superior given how modular it is. Shall we actually discuss this incredible feat?
RRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN
I have spent more time raging at that game than most have in a lifetime.
@gordonfreemantshephard were not talking about the myst engine because the original Myst ran on the same engine as powerpoint 97, doesn’t make it any less of an amazing game
The guy that makes Dear Esther is a lecturer at my university o.o
The game bored me to tears, though it looks like I should give it another chance…
Nobody ever said the graphics or engine were superior.
What made Myst so incredible was the level of immersion. It was incredibly well written and the soundtrack is still possibly the greatest video game soundtrack I’ve ever heard.
And you’re right Acumen, but then again I’m pretty sure nothing will ever be Myst. :’(
Oh my god! I almost shat bricks! Is that really Source engine? The capabilities of the Source engine exceeds my previous expectations. I did not think this was possible at all with this engine.
Looks amazing, can not wait!
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
