Dead Space: Worth my time?

Considering getting Dead Space in a week or so. Just need some opinions on whethers it’s worth it or not. I’ve got a secondary choice of ARMA II, but if you have any other suggestions add them.

And a few don’ts:

  • L4D 1 or 2
  • any fantasy RPG
  • Just Cause 2
  • Metro 2033

Console or pc?

yeahh its really good imo

its super cheap nowadays and rly atmospheric. plots basically just ripped from a handful of movies but works anyway. arma is for weirdos

E; i played it @ teh xbox tho so dunno how good the prot is

If you play it on pc prepare for extreme hard and annoying aiming. The game would be much more fun if aiming with the mouse wouldn’t be like shit.

^THIS.
You can tell this was made for console aiming, because the awkward, clunky controls kind of spoil the PC version from being a really enjoyable game.

I played this on the PC and happened to really enjoy it. I recommend it. No idea what it is like on a console.

Weird thing but the Wii prequel is actually pretty good too. kind of pumped for deadspace 2 now i think about it

i’ve played it on both systems (PC/360) and i liked both. it’s a great game and you won’t do anything wrong if you would buy it.

Yeah its a fair good game, looking forward to the sequel

Shit, I’m a PCfag and I have a feeling this will cause many a rage out.

Worth your time? Your time could be utterly worthless, so its a bit hard to answer

(I’m sure its not :stuck_out_tongue: )

Buy the game as well as a 360 controller so you can use it to play instead of keyboard and mouse, I found it nice tbh.

Ahahahahahahahahaha, heh. No.

Can I please have some suggestions for other games at least?

Turn Vsync on. Experiment with the mouse speed. Then it’s like playing GTA San Andreas --> Better aiming.

I did it, and it was far better than before

Dead Space is a good and solid sci-fi survival horror shooter.

Not thaaat great and not really that scary (in my opinion), but I can recommend playing it anyway.

Well, but you should know it has its annoying parts: You can even die with full health directly, if you aren’t aware of some cases.

For example a situation, where you are surprisingly grabbed by a creature and unable to change the weapon (because it’s blocked at this moment), while your current one is ineffective against that enemy.
So, if you don’t know exactly, where this enemy appears (which is normally the case, if you play a game the first time) and runs around with a shitty weapon or low ammo, you are fucked. And it is simply that stupid…I thought about throwing the game out of the window after that!

Also, if you are surrounded by a horde of motherfuckers and have to go into the inventory to choose another weapon or taking a medkit and every hit of that creatures throws you out of that menu…I thought about throwing the DVD out of the window.

And another: If you come to close to a special kind of enemy, it knocks your head off…even with a full health bar. And again I thought about throwing the game out of the window, because it was only annoying.

And even if you are no choleric, after these experiences, you definitively are!

But apart from this, the game has good atmosphere and nice events.

those wall tentacle guys suck cuz they have too much health but i think the few insta kill bits kind of add to the atmosphere cuz you feel a lil bit more vulnerable

you can change weapon while being pullled by the tentacle btw

a cool thing is stomping literally every corpse you meat into a pile of limbs

I was unable to access the inventory, it was definitively blocked.

you could change weapons w/ d pad or something cant remember exact like

Yes i’d say its worth it especially since its a lot cheaper now.
