Well put. Still, I think the piercing of the suit could have been made more noticeable.
I will say that the ending was pretty awesome, although magically teleporing one hit kill enemies are annoying. At the very least make her teleport in front of you, not a foot behind you. Lol’d at the final cutscene though.
Yeah, I played the first one on PC with m&k and the controls sucked, it was obviously a bad port job. Going to start up DS2 soon and see if it’s more playable this time, otherwise i’m going to order that wireless 360 usb adapter off eBay.
Just get a corded controller, more functionality imo, and it has a smaller back instead of a battery pack, more comfortable for the hands.
I can’t wait for Dead Space 2: Severed DLC which they bring back character from Extraction.
Is it weird that System Shock 2 scares me more with its old graphics and sounds than DS2 with its monster closet syndrome?
No. We’ve already established DS isn’t scary, it just makes you jump.
Not that I can see
Seeing all you guys raving about how awesome it is all and all these different awesome guns, while I can’t even play the game at all, is really annoying me.
…Which raises the question of why the heck I’m read this thread still.
Edit: I did enjoy watching Hamst3r’s LP of it, though. I like how I was annoyed at the ending because it was lame and it didn’t happen the way I thought, then Ellie pops in and it happens exactly like I expected.
But really, though, is [COLOR=‘Black’]blasting through the roof and flying around in a tight room with a swirling vortex full of debris without any depth perception really a good idea?
Hi all. Just completed hardcore mode and let me assure you the handcannon is well worth the hard work. I’ve been off sick the last couple of days so have written up my notes for others to use. It’s nothing special, just some strategies I used and advanced warning of where Necromorphs spring up. The link to the pdf here.
I started playing it yesterday. It’s OK so far. (in chapter 2) Nothing has scared me, and the only thing that has made me jump was fucking steam venting from the ceiling a couple times. They build up this tension with the atmosphere and sound, only to disappoint and not let me shoot anything.
Also, lol, flashlight that looks like a gun.
Thats about as scary as its going to get. There are a few moments of tension, but the scares are always in your face, and your face is capable of killing everything.
If you’re referring to the first Dead Space, it scared the shit out of me with the atmosphere for the first 2-3 chapters, and then after that it stops being scary because it runs out of ideas and just does the same scares from then on.
It doesn’t help that you have ridiculous weapons that can destroy any enemy with ease.
But the javelin gun with it’s special upgrade is so pretty!
I still stick with the ripper. Not sure if I’ve mentioned that.
Nah, you haven’t mentioned the ripper before at all.
Okay, good.
By the way, I think the ripper is one of the best weapons.
I still don’t get what’s so good about the ripper. I should go look at it.
Edit: It just shoots steerable sawblades? And you prefer this thing over flamethrowers and spearguns?
