Cyborg R.A.T. 9

Rat kings are ALWAYS classy. I make sure I wear mine to all formal dinners and weddings.

BUY RATS OR DIE

See if you find a R.A.T.5 on eBay or something. It’s the same damn thing and way cheaper.

Money isnt an issue, I prefer wireless. That is a good suggestion however.

Where the hell are you dorks getting all this money?!

From my job lol. Im not a student. $130 for a mouse I hope to use for at least 2 years is not a lot of money. Being able to communicate with my computer for ~$5/month is acceptable. Im certainly not going to go broke over it.

Yeah, minimum wage is typically enough to buy anything you want.

clever…

Now that you mention it, I still dont understand how people can survive on minimum wage, it boggles my mind.

Cheap apartments and parents with loadsamoney

Are you posting that everywhere just to get attention? It fucking sucks now get over it.

i just find it funny, you know, give ppl a laugh…

Its not supposed to be a display of talent. Youre quite the asshole.

No shortage of those here, and better ones too.

Good to see someone practicing what they preach. Props bro.

Ok, lets be children. Completely ignore the intentions behind the statements that my original comments were in reference to. Those comments are just simple ways to respect the original poster, granted that his post is valid. This is my thread, if I want to try to be funny I will.

Expressing useless disapproval is the only reason for most of the responses in this thread. Why do that? Do people think their uninformed opinions are that important?

I wonder what the average IQ of this forum is, it cant be high.

My RAT7 has arrived.

Unfortunately my MX1000 didnt last until the RAT9 was released, so I purchased the RAT7. Ive been using it for a week and all I can say is that I am very satisfied. After testing different ergonomic configurations, I have found the ideal setup. It is, hands down, the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. The overall shape and “footprint” of the mouse, supports my hand/fingers perfectly.

After hours of use the build quality appears to be excellent, of course only more time will prove it. It feels very solid (thanks in part to a steel frame and rail system for the adjustable components) and not of cheap construction/materials. I am using its full weight capacity, which is surprisingly NOT too heavy. All of the buttons are responsive and I have no issues with its clicking characteristics. All of the buttons are positioned well and do not get in the way, I have yet to accidentally press any. One of my favorite features is the “sniper” button, which reduces the mouse’s DPI whenever held down. The sensitivity is reduced by a percentage chosen by the user in the mouse configuration options. I have made use of this feature as a sniper in both TF2 and CS; my headshot ratio has improved.

As of now, I have zero issues with my RAT7. The only downside could be the price. Regardless of quality, $100 is a lot to spend for a mouse and will turn some people away. IMO it is worth the price, but may not be for everyone. Overall, it is an excellent choice for anyone who has large hands and strives for comfort. I will update this thread if my opinion changes.

I read some review that said the cords on the corded versions are under 12 inches long. I wonder if this is true.

12 inches? More like 72. :hmph:

Im shocked to hear such blatant misinformation in a review. Besides, I dont think any company is stupid enough to provide such a short cord. Perhaps a dedicated laptop mouse, but even then 12 inches is fucking useless.

P.S. I confirmed with my tape measure

Excellent, thanks for conformation.

No problem. Are you thinking of buying one?

EDIT: After further testing, I have confirmed the advantages of 5600 DPI.

Using the mouse’s DPI toggle, well located below the mouse wheel and between your fingers, you can automatically adjust the mouse’s sensor to one of five user-defined DPI settings in any environment. This allows one to save a relatively low in-game sensitivity, such as 2-3 for source shooters (HL, TF2, CS), and still maintain both high sensitivity and high precision due to 5600 DPI. Being universal, you can easily lower the DPI if necessary once you return to windows.

Sniping, and aiming in general, has never been so easy to control. I have noticed a significant improvement in overall accuracy.
