It seems like Valve won’t be letting you preload the the game but instead will let you download the beta version on August 14th. Which I’m assuming will be updated to the release version on launch date.
Oh, and if you preorder now, you can save 10%.
Anyone excited for this or are you underwhelmed/don’t care? I personally haven’t been playing CS all that much but I want to get back into it.

Nah, I think I remember liking CS:S when it came out, but I think it would be hard to convince me about CS:GO.
That’s a shame. I love cs:go from what i’ve played in the beta. It’s the update CS really needed imo.
I won’t buy it because they focused on the graphics too much and fucked around with things that were working great in CS and CS:S. Now I normally wouldn’t say that but seriously… my laptop can run CS:S and Portal 2 at a constant 300FPS at 1280x1024 but CS:GO didn’t even want to start up until a very recent update, now it’s not much better though because it is pretty much stuck on ~1fps the whole time.(core 2 duo, not intel graphics either) Also they removed mat_dxlevel, mat_picmip, r_lod r_shadows and all those useful commands from the console. I can still play it at good framerates on my desktop, until I found out you can’t spray tags anymore. That was the final straw.
The only thing it has going for it is built-in gun game, but even that is kind of fucked up…
Gungame (Arms Race) mode has 2 possible maps but “Demolition” - a shitty version of gungame with only 10 guns has at least 4 possible maps you can choose from.
Since I already own CSS, I don’t need another one.
I bought it, part because I want to own every valve game and part because Hidden Path Entertainment developed it and I want them to get enough out of the deal to help them carry on with defense grid.
For anybody who doesn’t know, they’re doing a Kickstarter to fund the sequel to defense grid (see my sig).
