Crysis 2

Funfact: Crysis completely dropped Jack Carver because Ubisoft owns the rights for FarCry, plus Crysis feels 100% different from FarCry, not a damn surprise basically.

You do realize you’re playing an obsolete build of the game that in no way reflects on the quality of the final version, right?

bugs wise, yes, gameplay elements and gameplay, nonono

I’d just like to say I’m really enjoying it so far. TO satisfy the haters, yes I am going to get it retail, I always was. And I’m adapting to the lenseflare/bloom in the graphics, although it’s still not to my tastes. Also, the cover system with automatic leaning is absolute shite, it works on like, 40% of surfaces. Aside from that, loving it.

Automatic leaning? :FFFUUU:

If you aim, yes.

If you go up against a barrier, it says “Press (default mouse2) to lean” and it automacitally pops you up over the cover into your scope. It A. restricts your aiming terribly, by auto scoping you in straight away, and B. hardly ever works.

Often you’re left behind a piece of cover where it isn’t working, wishing you had manual lean buttons…I hope they fix the lack of supported surfaces, but It still won’t be a feature I like.

No, it works, just be sure that whenever the “press mouse 2 to lean” comes up, that you move your mouse in the direction you want to lean.

I still think classic “Q to lean left, E to lean right” would be better though.

Honestly, I think Crysis 1 looks just as good as Crysis 2. It’s hard to compare the two games though when the environments are so drastically different. (But then again, I’m restricted to playing it with DX9 and 1280x768 due to the leak being bleh)

fix’d

Though that could be a beta only thing.

Well, we’ve got 10 days till we know what the full PC version looks like.

The fundamental gameplay will not change this close to release.

A damn shame.

Funfact: Far Cry and Crysis were different series altogether, Crysis and Crysis 2 are not. Crysis 2 should not feel 100% different from the first, though granted it doesn’t feel that different, it just doesn’t feel that similar either.

Aside from forced cover, I did like what I played of the SP, and the aliens seem pretty intelligent. I screwed around with them in the editor - they don’t always work, but It’s a leak so that’s understandable.

I would have preferred a manual cover system if they were to do it. It was actually kind of already in Crysis 1 - think about it, you go up to a wall, he lifts his weapon up. You lean out, he puts it back down. What I would have liked to see is pressing Q and E for lean left/right, but pressing Q AND E to lean over stuff. That would’ve been cool, kind of like how in MGS you can lean over whenever you are in first person.

Someone’ll fix it.

Thats kinda disappointing. The cutscenes and the lack of real openness were what ruined Warhead for me.

IMO the original game was great fun and doesn’t really deserve all the slagging it gets (some yes, most no). It was let down by the AI, odd bug, and the later levels being basically big corridors. When I replay it, I get up to the Alien ship and usually quit there.

Warhead was OK, it just lacked the freedom of the original and the cutscenes broke any immersion that was left.

I might wait for the demo to decide if it’s worth getting first up or wait for it to come down in price.

I’m replaying warhead right now, I think it is quite good, and some of the beginning missions are pretty open. What hurts it though is in a lot of parts it forces linearity on you, and the cutscenes are B-movie quality compared to the original, though Psycho’s actor does a pretty good job throughout. Another good point is the AI is like 10x more reactive then the first one.

They flank you and flush you out quite well, and they don’t hesitate to shoot anymore so combat is a little more intense. I think if they just toned down the linearity a bit and brought back more of the original Crysis philosophy of planning your attack, it could have been an amazing improvement on the first game. Hell, I would’ve loved to see in the Ice part where you get a squad of Nanosuited guys, for you to be able to give them orders, not just have to follow them. The linear parts are a bit better than Crysis’s linear parts, but more of the game is linear so :frowning:

can anybody help me? the game is freezing in the loading screen!!!

Solution: Wait until 24th March

stop trollin dude i just wanna know how to make this shit work i wanna know if im gonna buy it or not cuz i dont have a 360!

A MP demo is coming anyway. Maybe with a bench for the SP.

I fucking hate you people for asking about troubles you have with the leak. Not only that you downloaded it, you are also asking stupid questions that can be answered in any leak forum. I can wait till the full game is released. Then I’ll pirate it.

I admit, I lol’d.

I didn’t find it that funny because that’s actually how I feel. I may be a pirate, but I have standards.

Plus I’ll probably buy it later, but I don’t do 60 dollar games.
