extract it again (or redownload) and don’t fuck around with the settings this time, or just wait a couple of months before a retail or fixed version comes along.
Twas was the config being a clusterfuck of fuck.
I’m using the default config now, with nothing defined except my resolution and telling the game not to compile remote shaders, and it’s working now.
that’s weird, but then again on my friend’s pc there are lots of missing textures while on mine there are practically none (except in Hargreave’s office the screen it says “replace me”)
Ninja, you find a fix to that problem? I can’t play because of the same issue, it goes into the cinematic for like 1 second and starts freezing and stuttering.
Some guy actually said it was Call of Crysis.
Hes totally right. Everything is wrong, Even aliens are not the same, I mean WTF.
“The aliens are different” somehow justifies calling it “Call of Crysis”? Fun fact: there were no aliens in Call of Duty.
Did you honestly want the floating aliens from C1 to crossover into this game? Their difference from their original counterparts makes sense within the context of the universe and the design chance proves to make them a fun enemy to fight against, rather than floating sci-fi squids.
The aliens in C2 are 100x better, and when you play on the harder difficulties their tactics and aggressiveness change making them even more fun/difficult to fight against. Crysis 2 in many ways differs from the original, but in many ways i think it’s an improvement. It’s very streamlined and polished compared to the original in terms of mechanics, making it slightly easier to utilize the powers of the nanosuit. Crytek also kept the game quite challenging, something that’s missing from this generation of shooters. It does utilize some scripted events, but in no way does it feel forced or linear like call of duty, you still can approach objectives from multiple angles and tactics. i do however feel that the alien enemy design takes a lot of inspiration from the halo franchise(cloaked elites, hunters) , but the artstyle, sound design and the animation gives the aliens a very unique feel to Crysis’s universe. This game is now in my top 10 shooters of all time list, it’s the first unique all platform game I’ve been excited for in a long time, Crytek will have my money on day 1.
I look forward to playing the game in it’s entirety in DX11!
can anybody help me? everytime i try to launch Crysis 2 [Bin32/Crysis2.exe] the screen goes black, the only thing i can see is the Crysis 2 mouse pointer, and when i open the task manager it says that Crysis 2 is working
im not good with computers
Then wait and buy the final product.
It’s universally accepted by everyone whose ever played Crysis that the aliens in the first game were fucking horrible.
I personally would not say horrible but then again the aliens would not make for a good one on one combatant and they seem more like a boss or special grunt. Then again the original focused mainly on the Koreans as foot soldiers. I believe that if there is a logical explanation(logical meaning anything outside of magic) that the new version of the aliens would make a great grunt in C2.
Not really, I think they are worse in C2. They look like something ripped out of Halo or transformers. Also they are supposed to be smarter than humans, yet they risk their own lives instead of using robots for their dirty work like in the first game. And what’s up with the weak spots? I mean big ares of their bodies are unprotected leaving them vulnerable. Doesn’t feel very convincing
They didn’t use robots. The smaller ones were aliens in mechanical suits. The larger ones were the alien equivelant of tanks.
How do you know that? The small ones are too small to fit the aliens
Speak for yourself. I liked the aliens in 1, its nice to have non-humanoid aliens. Whats the point of aliens if they are gonna function exactly like people would?
No. You’re wrong.
Actually, I don’t think most people thought they were horrible, I think most of the criticism the Aliens received was for the piss poor AI they had, aside from the one that could throw people and cars. Look at Warhead, there was a lot more fighting Aliens - but most people liked it better than the first. One of the reasons was attributed to the fact that they vastly improved their AI, and they were much more interesting to fight.
Runs pretty good, a bit glitchy every now and then and whenever I try to tweak settings it crashes.
It doesn’t really feel like a Crysis game. It’s all cutscenes and getting funneled in to corridors. Sure there’s suit and weapon customisation, but other than that there’s hardly anything that bears any resemblance to the first games.
