the Fast zombies scare the shtit ouf of me in Ravenholm.
the creepiest? poison zombie.
the one that breaks through the door in one of the episodes. shudder
fast zombies when you first see them berserking the building at the start of hl2_town_02a
By far the fast zombies.
The idea to have the drain pipes rattle when they are climbing up to get you was inspired.
God I wish I had better aim with the revolver when they were climbing up.
Even when I see them coming, they startle me when they do that jump.
Kinda like Halo’s flood.
Poison zombie for sure. When i first played HL2, he really scared me. Sure, fast zombies were startling, but the way poison headcrab can change human like that…
posion zombie = creepy
fast zombie = surprising
The regular zombie when used right.
Actually, the regular zombie was only scary in the beta when it was more quiet and the sounds it made were sudden and brief.
So Poison zombie.
in Ep.2 the fast zombie digging around in the dumpster scared the crap out of me after i threw in a grenade and he threw it back out at me and then popped out
Can zombies do that?
It only happens in 1 specific location in Episode 2, in normal gameplay - no.
regular low-definition Half-Life zombie.
Bloated shoulders, mutated thresher chest, ultraprominent skull, 3 ft. long claws and wacky gargling instead of muffled whining.
During the coast levels when you’re driving the car and you’re in a tunnel that’s blocked off by cars and right when you get out to push them away BAM, Fast Zombies.
The Black Mesa zombie. Hands down.
Yes, actually.
I like to imagine that the infected human is fully aware of what’s going on but has no control over its actions.
the zombine. the sounds they make are terrifying. especially coupled with the fact that they fucking explode.
Fast zombies. I still remember the first time I heard the growling in Ravenholm. Greatest fucking level in video game history, perfect design. Great sound effects for the zombies as well.
I don’t really disregard Half Life+ as having real people in it.
I mean Alyx is developed well, but it isn’t really believeable when she is making that smile when you get back in the airlock after playing fetch with dog.
So as long as I know that the zombies are not real, i just still hate the fast zombies.
