Console combat

no doubt those ‘correct hands’ use a computer in their everyday life, so when they do pick up a PC game, it would not take them long to be better than they are on a pad.

God damn. Are you not getting this? The KB+M is like a scalpel and the xbox a machete. When you are trying to carefully and precisely cut something, which one is better? The fucking scalpel.

The apple analogy sucks ass because tastes are entirely different from person to person. But there are things about a game interface that are universally considered important, such as accuracy and movement speed. Controllers fail miserably at both when compared to pc. Really the only thing they have is they can be used in any position.

The controller is never better. The only time someone is EVER better with the controller is when they are more accustomed to it. And it only takes about two weeks if not less to become nearly fully accustomed to KB+M.

The generally accepted controller is used on consoles because it’s a good universal control system; it adapts to different games, it’s compact, it’s simple. It’s not used because it’s the pinnacle of precision. That’s what needs to be realised here.

I say generally accepted controller because I am of course excluding the likes of steering wheels, light guns, etc,.

Heres my analogy

Kb/M:

Accuracy: Win, I have no complaints

Firing: Loss, I can shoot faster with triggers than a click

Movement: Loss, Instead of holding the Shift key I can tilt a sensitive Joystick.

Extra Equipment: Tie, both easy to access

Other: Win, Controls can be changed at anytime to anything.

Cons: Can’t be easily shared with friends. (Not Counted Against)

                                                                                                          TIE

Contoller:

Accuracy: Loss, Easy for some, hard for others, uses aim assisst sometimes.
Firing: Win, The triggers and buttons allow for quick firing.
Movement: Win, Easy to transition from slow walk, to jog, to run.
Equipment: Tie, both easy to access.
Other: Loss, HAVE to use preset controls.

If theres something I missed, please tell me so i can re-balance my analogy.

You find pressing the shift key to be worse than pressing the joystick down on a console controller? I can fire just as fast with a mouse as I can with a trigger, and movement? Lol, movement with a mouse and keyboard is so much more smooth, it’s much better. I have played on consoles and PC’s since I was 4, and the obvious winner in controls in the PC, actually, the PC is the obvious winner in almost all categories.

You must be trolling. I cant possibly imagine how you can even begin to think this is true.

Ok, you can have the win for your kb/m, now what?
I also like the maturity here, i was expecting someone to cop-out and start name calling.

Edit:

How about me using a controller more than a mouse, and that i have expirence w/ guns, so it feels natural.

Click is a smaller movement than trigger. Quick logic question, if your finger can move at x speed, and one action requires your finger to travel 3-4 times as far as the other action, which action can be completed faster? Also, you should never need to fire faster than the mouse allows you to. If you’re firing faster it either means you’re an idiot and your bullets are going everywhere or you’re abusing a semi-auto weapon and turning it into full auto.

Also, Shift>pressing in joystick. Pressing in the joystick makes it a little harder to aim while holding shift is no harder to reach and does not affect your aim. As I said before, the controller is only better because it can be used easily in any position like standing up or laying down or leaning back on a couch. I forgot, it’s also nice for throwing at your tv or people’s faces. Great for when you’re nerd raging.

Minecraft is on the PC.

Good thing you cleared that up for us!

What the hell, I’m playing it on my DS. …I’m scared…

This I do disagree with; there’s no finesse with a keyboard, it’s stop or go, unless there’s a ‘walk’ button. With a gamepad all games have at least 2 degree’s of movement speed, and are in general nicer to maneuverer with.

While you idiots argue about it, most people are actually having fun playing games using either console controllers or K/B and not thinking about which is superior.

Seriously, what’s the point?

I don´t know…I was just curious :3

No one is calling you names you pansy

Because internet people don’t play games, they complain about them.

I’ve never understood why you care. Some people like arguing so if you don’t, don’t argue about how they should stop arguing, just go away and let them have at it. No one is harming you by this argument and the only reason it bothers you is because you pay attention to it.

agree

Oh big surprise. The kids want to argue over something no one can win.

Isn’t that what I said?
