I don’t know… Somewhere in the deep parts of black Mesa their is a cat that lives in a vent shaft.

I would personally handle the header stuff above a little differently – Hubi, I think you need some more IE hooks… page_logo.png and dashboard get redrawn every fade in with IE9. Actually, the logo png and dashboard are fading out while bg is fading in… just a tad unseemly… but everything looks perfect in Chrome.
So what is the consensus? are we torrenting this mofo, regardless of what the download situation is?.. I for one will have my 2nd machine seeding all day, if this is the case… anyone else have multiple pcs that they can be seeding with after you grab it and start playing? We all need to chip in and torrent/seed to keep the interwebs from exploding (right?). Anyone who has the capacity to seed this bastard for at least an hour or two would be doing their part, for sure. In other words, seed for at least the same amount of time that your DL took… I am not an authority on this stuff, though… maybe I am full of shit… correct me if I am. And sorry, I have not had time to read every post here if this has already been discussed at length…
Im wondering about the torrent situation myself. Im curious to know how many BM team members (or close confidants) have complete installers, capable of immediately seeding on release.
I know it’s a little late for suggestions, but can the devs please add a cat to accompany Gordon through the game? Preferably one like in the picture. It only seems logical.

Yeah, steam would be wonderful for sure… but do you remember the problems with even logging in during some of the Summer Sale periods?.. I don’t think steam can handle it… as a matter of fact, I would put very serious money on them not being able to handle this, for at least the first 10 hrs.
Therefore a combination of torrent, multiple ftp/http mirrors, steam or premium share sites should do the trick. I meant for steam only being one little stone in the mosaic. After initial rampage, steam could remain only platform, as it can handle the load then. BM Devs shouldn’t have to pay too much in server maintenance costs.

Just got back from a three-day stay at the family cottage when I saw this.
Holy crap. Now that the long-awaited day is finally here (or was, yesterday) I can hardly beleive it.
I have friends who still don’t beleive it, but they might not even beleive it when it’s out.
While I don’t agree with the Xen decision, I fully understand your reasoning behind it, and I just want to say this:
