Community Update

Pesky refresh…

I can’t think of any good reason for it to be a kickstarter program, but the idea does sound kinda nice.

When it gets there, could you have the timer get stuck on 5 seconds for a couple of hours?

I still love Xalener’s first post in this thread. Black Mesa getting a release date after 7 long years, and he just gives out a feel of ‘Meh, okay I guess.’

Anybody else think it’s no coincidence that the running gag on the forum was “about 7” a while ago? It’s almost like they were taunting us :o

I remember I had a sig calling attention to that about a year ago, heh heh.

As a mod, I don’t think Greenlight is the place for it. What really needs to happen is that Valve give Half-Life 2 a workshop space. Then this could go in that.

I’m so excited! A little bit frustrating that I’m away that weekend, but I guess I can wait for two more days!

Hi all and Reaps,

Registered one minute ago precisely to comment about the soundtrack. I’ve been listening to it non-stop since yesterday, the soundscape really reflects HL added to a more mature and modern approach. 10kk kudos to Joel Nielsen for his great work

Now, speaking of lossless encodes and stuff, I bet someone here knows Bandcamp. It’s an online music store for independent artists. And they ask for lossless files from the artists, so the customers can choose whether they prefer to download a FLAC release or the same songs on lossy formats. Perhaps it’s worth to take a look: https://bandcamp.com/

Cheers y’all o/

SWEET!! that’s a relief.

There isn’t really much to add that hasn’t already been said, yet I still feel the need to say something here, as to keep my brain from working hitchhiker Style.

Great job, looking forward to it, even if it’s bad. I’ve spent a good amount of my life waiting for this, and I must say that no mater what the simple fact of it being out in the not too distant future is enough for me.

I’m not going to say that I’ve never doubted you guys would release it, because of the incident several years back. What I will say is that now it is coming out I’ve got something to look foreword to, and something to keep me going.

It has been a fun trip sitting and reading the repeating threads, gaining bits of info, but I’m hoping this will mean a new era for the forums so to say. I’m hoping that even when the full mod is released, and the team has moved on to bigger and better things that the community will still remain making the posts that make me smile, and make life just a bit more rosy. (Even with those of you here who make me want to rip out my hair, and use it to knit a hate sweater.)

Awesome news! It’s strange how I could wait patiently during all these years and now, there is only a few days ahead but I can’t control my emotions

Cheers everyone!

I’m interested in knowing how many people have NOT played hl1, hl2,

hl2ep1, hl2ep2, etc…

and what their feelings about playing BM ‘FIRST’ might be…

Even the BBC have reported on Black Mesa’s release. O_o

Good work guys

Great that the BBC provides us with all the real news we need lol
Xen I can wait for…

I’m glad the BBC was the first major news site to pick up on this. It’s a testament to British journalism.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
