Combine vs Covenant

idk guys i think that the covient would rape the combine

You sir do not play half life much do you? the combine took over the world in seven hours, the covenant can’t top that

Grunts: too easy

jackals: have shields and yet are too easy

elites: the only real challenge at all

hunters: they look bad ass but you can kill them with either a pistol or sniper

So basicaly the combine are much better because they are all challenges

Yeah, but in the Half-Life universe, the military sucks complete monkey nards.

Or maybe Freeman is just awesome. In any case, the combine can drill through universes. I think that wins them some points.

Lets see, the Covenantt have problems fighting humans humans. The combine destroyed the entire EDF in 7 hours.

So… yeah… By logic I’d say Combine > Covenant

/thread

I’ll give them this: They have neon eyes and and puffy vests.

However, they are pathetic enough to get their entire empire destroyed by a shit covered crowbar.

Freeman only won because his every movement was being controlled by that guy who was sitting behind his eyes with a keyboard and mouse. :fffuuu:

Also,

True. They’re supposed to be expendable…

Jackal snipers. 'Nuff said.

True. It’s funny though how the higher-ranking ones can survive a direct rocket hit.

The pistol no longer does that…

The only challenge I’ve ever faced against Combine were the Hunters.

The covenent get their asses kicked by a tard in a tin can, I’m pretty sure the combine have just won the whole debate right there.

actually iv just thought of something that proves the combine would beat the convenant, the convenant were beat by the human speices correct? Civil Protection is humans willing to fight for the combine? And overwatch are biomechincally enahcned humans, so if the convenant has a hard time fighting a marine imagine how much harder its going to be for them fighting against a biomechincally enhanced one? And not forgetting this, the convenants technology is stolen from the forerunners, so without their tech the convenant are useless. The only real threat therefore in the halo universe for the combine are the mysterious forerunners, who we have never seen

this is why i hate halo games (although it’s out of this thread’s subject): the masterchief goes along and kills all these covenant and later, what do they tell you? “We’re fighting a losing war against the Combine”. Yeah, I understand humanity lost Reach and all that nonsense, but they make it feel as if the player made no progress with all he’s done throughout the first two Halo games, especially playing as a Spartan II.

and, from Halo: ODST, we learn that a single ODST can take down similar numbers of covenant, and most parts of that game you were alone, except in two flashbacks. Halo ODST was a fun game, but only the parts of playing as the Rookie where you could choose to fight the enemies, engage them silently, or move on, not in the flashbacks where the only distinction from Halo 3 is the new cover system which is similar to that of Halo 1 (with health and all).

They could’ve made the game less like Halo 3, where you slaughter covenant easily, and more of a strategy type of game. Hell, i would’ve even liked firefights if you had more marines with you. Take a look at the first flashback of that game: you play as an ODST who is trying to regroup with another ODST about a mile away. In the course of that mile, you fight through a horde of covenant, two hunters, etc. wth!!! Now, if this marine could take down ALL this covenant, well…

I mean, Combine have got sentient gunships, sentient striders, sentient syths, while the most powerful weapon the covenant have are wraiths (would put quite a challenge, though), banshees (slow moving and would fall prey to fast combine choppers), ghosts (would put no challenge to striders who could just step on their engines and shoot them), spectres, hunters, etc.

And yet: remember, we’ve seen all the covenant has to offer. We have not seen shit of what the Combine has, they still have loads of crazy stuff in that citadel. I’d say it’s a no-brainer, Combine won this one.

If you notice the date under my name, I’ve been a member since May 2009. At least since after the crash. I had an account since 06 or 07 before that and just never really posted anything.

Covenant have Scarabs (which would easily destroy pretty much all the Combine tech we’ve seen so far), Seraph Fighters, CCS Battlecruisers, Assault Carriers, Antimatter Bombs… etc. So they still are slightly more powerful than you put them to be.

Combine would still win though. Covies could struggle for a few days but even so they would inevitably lose.

Well, both forces get beat down by ‘arses in tin cans’
.

you forget gordon’s tin can is less advanced lol, making his defeat of the combine more incredible

also i forgot about scarabs, but they really aren’t that difficult to take down, lol. i took one down alone as an ODST. all you gotta do is deploy over one, and blow off its heart. they’re also incredibly slow and fire slow orbs of shit. I don’t even think they can attack aerial targets, but i forget.

They can with that annoying fucking cannon on the back that autoaims you.

Meh, The Halo 2 Scarab was scripted and epic, the Halo 3 scarab was an actual character, but they nerfed it for balance

As far as I’m concerned, we’ve just never foight a REAL scarab before.

But you have fought a real scarab, so what’s your point?

I don’t think we have considered the autocannon factor. If you mounted one of those under a combine dropship it could do some serious damage.

Seeing as the combine hasn’t actually moved over too many units into earth I suspect the ones they have in their own little corner of the universe must be a lot more powerful.

YOU forgot to mention that the Combine are less advance as well, which would balance the whole tin can ass thing out.

The combine are less advanced? where did you get that idea from?

of course, but the tin canned arse that beat the covenent was also retarded.
