Wouldn’t it make sense for them to use human weapons? The combine foot soldiers are humans, or modified humans. Therefore, with human hands. The weapons we have are effective, widespread and ergonomically designed for the people using them.
Why would the combine bother to develop new weapons from scratch that humans can actually hold and fire, when they don’t need to? I mean, they are only using these weapons to kill humans, and we’ve had millions of years experience developing weapons for exactly that purpose.
