combine look low tech

Case in point:

How does that seem low-tech at all? Hell, they look pretty high-tech to me, all that metal and the glowing lenses.

“Your cells are infused with alien DNA”
I don’t recall there ever being any evidence of that.

Fuck, you’re a buzzkill.

god dias u riun every thing :[
Still, just looking at the stripped down Combine, I can tell that they aren’t low tech.

Sometimes I feel as though I don’t ruin enough things for you people.

don’t dis combines 1940’s style of fashion, it rocks!

but yes the soldier and upward gear do look hi-tech.

Combine aint 1940’s-style. They’re more of a minimalistic modernization of 1980’s-style.

including technology at least 1 century ahead of us,the fact that it has conquered at least 5 different alien races, spread over different universes and have portal technology I wouldn’t exactly talk about “minimalistic” modernization.but since technology evolves so fast these day’s it’s more of a short time expansion of the 80’s.if short means one century of course but whatever.

My bad…:jizz:

I’m talking visually here.

The best solutions are those that are solved simply.

Why invent a new type of zip when the current generation of zips work a treat. Why should the Combine spend time and use up resources making a subsitute to a helicopter…to make them look cool? The same point is valid for the C4.

You just don’t get the combine. Whatever they do, they’re not wasting resources.

Even if they do, they don’t care. They’ll just suppress then surgically operate on the people who disagree.

Remember that the Combine are operating on human technology with some modifications. Otherwise, everything would look like its made from synths.

I think this is the first time I’ve wholeheartedly agreed with you.

QFT.

You are aware that I was implying that I think liking stereotypical, cliche and uninspired enemies is stupid right? Just making sure. :tired:

Yes, I know that. But I agree that people bitch less when they have something that they’re more familiar with.

It happens with almost everything, people bitch when there isn’t any innovation with something, but then they bitch if there is, because they’re not too familiar with it.

I hear ya. :brofist:

yep.

Old is the new New. 'Nuff said.

Bring on Tron Legacy.
