Children's area

IIRC, the staff’s families also live in the Black Mesa Complex. If this is correct, if there could possibly be a child center that you perhaps pass by on the train in during Inbound, and have this tune barely audible on the train itself when you pass by the child center: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N2k5gEgE2E

While this would be meant as a joke for the player, this a serious suggestion and not a joke thread. I always love discovering hidden bits of humor in games and that song barely audible–maybe even only in a specific spot on the train–would be a perfect example of that.

inb4 child zombie suggestions

Here’s a large suggestion that warrants its own thread if I’ve ever seen one

A place like that would be on the surface and not deep underground, like where Blueshift tram ride begins.

Yeah, Gordon Freeman was housed in the dormitories he was housed in, because he was single.

So the kiddies are at the surface, probably. Means they either got out OK, or the HECU had a really really crappy job up there. :expressionless:

Black Mesa begins at the exact same place as Half-Life. As far as I know, it’s waaay too far in the game’s development to add a brand new area to be mapped+modeled+textured+scripted.

You get a pass, cause you’re new. But you could try looking for how the Developers answer to similar suggestions on the Suggestions thread.

with HawkeyE in it hahaha

That would be :awesome:we:awesome :s ome:awesome:

I agree with doomyshadowsquirrels.

Besides, a children’s area would be better fitted to a place like Area 7 Recreational Facilities (which do not appear in the game and are only mentioned).

So just pretend they are there.

Family areas (Housing, schools, services, etc) would be located at the outskirts of the base

To bad Gordon’s single. If he had a son they would be indestructible.

Yeah, but there’s nobody suitable for him except Chell.

It makes sense to have recreational things like this; the Lambda Core, for instance, had a surprising lack of break rooms or even vending machines.

Edit:

What about Alyx?

She talks too much.

I thought you meant during his time at Black Mesa, not after the Resonance Cascade and the 7 Hour War.

Seriously though, the only reason Gordon and Alyx haven’t been making babies all day is because Gordon secretly doesn’t know how. He’s been so focused on science and saving the world, he forgot where his dick is.

At the time of Half-Life events she was a small kid…? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I don’t want Gordon to be pedophile.

How old is Alyx during the Black Mesa Incident again?

Well she is 27 years old in HL2 so take 20 makes her about seven at the time of the Incident. However I just think every canonical source I see just says she was a child so I don’t think it could be verified.

The internet goes to you sir.

I wonder if Gordon has any pressing thoughts that his wanting to get with a person who he knew when at 7 is wrong.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
