Cat VS Dog

fail

Gosh. Everybody knows dolphins are not trained by humans - humans are trained by dolphins! Dolphins know exactly what to do in order to make their humans give them fish.

Dolphins are the second most intelligent species on the planet, right after lab mice.

If you have any further questions, my answer is 42.

I think everyone can agree that reptiles are superior pets:

Eastern Water Dragons. We get two that regularly visit to be fed, so I guess that counts as a pet, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

You can’t snuggle with a reptile, though. What, with all the consummate Vs and the spinities.

Reptiles are badass. If I could keep a komodo dragon I would.

i think reptiles are going slightly off track of what the topic is about, the dogvs the cat

Read up on it, its a serious subject!

That’s gansta!

You misspelled “only”.

If you say cats smell bad, they only smell as bad as the house they live in. Dogs however have a natural smell.

A naturally bad smell.

Cats generally are less work, and can usually take care of themselves as long as you provide remember to change food, water, and litterbox. The only time you have a problem is if they don’t use a scratching post then you’ll need to keep their claws trimmed or risk having them shred furniture. (I dislike declawing, but that is an option, provided you don’t let your cat outside unescorted) Generally only Siamese (both full and mixed breed) are known for more commonly having temperament issues.
Personal favorite breeds are Maine Coon, and Scottish Folds.

Dogs take more work, both to train as well as just general involvement needed for them to be happy and healthy, but also are much more enthusiastic about showing love and support for you. Large dogs generally have issues recognizing their own size, but also tend to have a much more mellow temperament. Smaller dogs are typically far more high strung and yappy.
Typically mutts are much smarter and less prone to health problems than just about any pure dog breed other than herding dogs. Hunting dog breeds are usually still okay in brains, but start having a higher risk for health issues. Guard/Fighting dogs are about even with Hunters, but even properly raised ones you do have to be careful around strangers. Show dog breeds are generally okay in temperament, but usually are the dumbest and most prone to health problems.
Personal favorite breed is Shetland Sheepdog and Welsh Corgi.

Australian cattle dog

I’ve only seen one or two others.

Dogs ftw, have a greyhound called Ali, used to be a racer ( :frowning: cruel bastards), cats are crap imo, they never stay at home, they don’t do much and are only loyal to whoever gives them food.

PUPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIES

During his life, maybe just five nights out of a year would he not come home for bedtime. I developed a unique whistle to call him from the forested lots nearby. The cat hunted snakes, birds, and rodents. (I will never forget driving home to see him cross the road dragging a snake longer than himself.)

He could handle a day relaxing inside, or have an exciting day of hunts. The variety of activity was much broader than just The Park…or… A Walk. Cats are also not dependent on human company like so many dogs, but they can certainly appreciate being with us. There is no shame in leaving them alone, which is a major ease on any pet relationship.

What does your dog do besides lick his balls and fetch a rubber ball in a desperate bid for approval? My cat fought off other cats in the neighbourhood, reduced the rodent population, kept me company during vital years while allowing me to observe a stoic philosophy in action, and provided a source of mutual amusement within my family.

'Twas the season.

He would take an interest in human food if it were offered, but not to the extent of begging for table-scraps. So, how many pests has your dog decapitated and left for you as a symbol of his loyalty?

He also taught me to deal with loss… With feline immunodeficiency virus, while he was suddenly bed-ridden, his lungs stopped working, stopped pulling air in and out. Beneath the stroke of my hand he began to struggle haplessly to such a random death as suffocation. With his eyes open he left.

He will always be remembered, and always be missed. I will remember all the nights he slept at the foot of my bed. I like to remember him like this:

so in summary, dogs can’t be the pets that cats can.

dogs also wont die of freaken cat aids and can catch a frisbee on a beach
