nice code
Lol, thanks
That is due to the bastard breeders interbreeding and all of that lark.
Pre-disclaimer: I have a pug and used to have a cat
My dog hunts birds and rodents as well (especially birds) and also comes when whistled (duh, it’s a dog)
When I’m at home, my back door’s always open, so my dog can go inside and outside the house freely. During fall, winter and spring, he spends most of the daylight outside playing around, hunting and guarding his property. He’s also free to leave the garden since there’s no fence or gate, but he won’t leave the grounds without me.
Apart from the fighting, same thing really. Besides, cats lick their balls as well, since it’s part of the washing process. One thing a dog won’t have, however, is hairballs. Dogs also don’t have a need to scratch some sort of surface, so less risk of damaged furniture (although most of them do seem to like chewing on shoes).
My dog won’t eat anything that isn’t handed by me, or unless I tell him he can take it. He likes human food, but doesn’t beg for it and won’t eat it if it just fell on the floor while nobody noticed it.
When he catches a bird (granted, that doesn’t happen too often since he’s a pug after all, sneaking doesn’t fit him), he also brings it inside as a gift. Of course, that sometimes leads to a bird that’s just wounded and not dead trying to fly away, splashing blood all over the walls and ceiling)
And that’s where (imho) dogs > cats. Cats are so independent and “uncontrollable” that they pretty much risk their lives daily by just being outside (and not only by disease). I’ve never been sad about my cat dying, because I know that the odds were he’d die of something before aging.
Yes they can.
Post-disclaimer: my dog came from a nest at a farm, at the same time when his mother gave birth to him and his siblings, a nest of kittens was born, so both puppies and kittens grew up together, playing together etc. I’ve actually noticed in a lot of things that my dog has a lot of feline characteristics, might have something to do with that.
Shorter-hair cats tend to not get any hairballs, he never had an issue. But I’m glad to hear you give your pug a happy life, one with options.
…Charming. Reminds me of the time we found… a wing. A wing in our garage. For some reason we never had an issue with blood.
Indeed the breeders are to blame for a lot of the health issues. Cats aren’t as fucked up from domestication…they didn’t come from wolves that needed to be made more friendly, they just came from…cats. So overall they live longer than dogs… at least, in a controlled environment.
But I have decided if I get a dog in the future, it will be a pit bull. They can be incredibly loving and loyal.
My nephew breeds American Staffordshires (also considered pit bulls), and they’re indeed rather loving and extremely loyal. However, the dangers with this breed lays with the fact that you really need to check the previous 2-3 generations of the dog you’re buying. If there’s a recent history of his bloodline being bred as fighting dogs, you’ll have a potentially dangerous dog that might turn against anything smaller or a wee bit bigger than them (yes, I’m talking about children) or even his owner if he deems you unworthy of leadership.
Pitbulls are illegal in most countries :S
And anyway, you said cats just came from being cats, they actually got domesticated by the ancient Egyptians, merely as a way of pest control. And anyway, all animals can be domesticated in roughly 5 generations.

That’s one of the ugliest dog I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
I must agree with Imonfire, sadly. Greyhounds are in my top 3 of ugliest breeds. Along with the Chinese Crested Dogs and Chihuahuas.
