Careful with that on the internets.
Controversy levels rising.
… Although I should probably start working to get past Warrant Officer tbh
…
Anyway I think I’ll wait for a price drop to buy Black Ops. I’m more of a singleplayer guy anyway.
too short i finished it in about 5.5h on ‘hardened’ difficulty level.
But they actually did. Zombies is all I ever played and it’s awesome. Maybe I enjoyed it more because it came with my graphics card for free.
Wouldn’t that slow down the “the longer you play, the more unfair advantages you have” issue with MW2?
Thought PCfags were used to this? I’ve NEVER played a PC game that wasn’t glitchy shit out of the box. Post 2000 of course.
I’ll probably wait till it drops to 20 bucks and get it.
To a certain extent, yes. But that wasn’t that bad in MW2; the UMP and M16 were insanely good and both unlocked fairly early in the game. The currency system has killed a lot of what was fun about MW2; leveling up and working hard to unlock your favorite gun/attachment. How many people would play WoW without it’s giant xp bar? Even IGN with their incredible bias (they loved Halo Reach) agrees that the currency system killed the fun of leveling:
Yeah, they added that in again. :3
I actually quite like the new currency system…it kinda makes me want to try harder and adds a sense of achievement to earning new weapons / attachments / camo / etc…
It sounds like a better system than the old way of leveling. Frankly I hated that I had to go forty hours in MP before unlocking the Vector in MW2. That said, the create-a-class perks were fun to tinker with. Great combo is Commando Pro and Marathon Pro- unlimited sprint and no fall damage equals running around the battlefield like Faith in Mirror’s Edge. Good set to use with high accuracy SMGs like the Vector for popping off short range headshots in quick succession, or with sniper rifles to quickly get to a difficult perch, get a shot or two off, and reposition. Also very helpful if someone discovers your position, you can jump off any height with no worries unless it’s a map with a bottomless pit and flank your aggressor.
Of course, I’m pretty sure that set of perks managed to make me wear out my 360’s left thumbstick clicker…
You’ll wait for it to drop to 20 bucks? ok but COD4 isn’t even 20 bucks, so enjoy the wait.
Great singleplayer and multiplayer i havn’t had any issues yet, feels good to have dedicated servers back, it’s like playing COD4 for the first time again.
Well, its all a matter of degree. Most PC games run fine out of the box, but need to be cleaned up a little after release. Some, however, just plain don’t run at all when they’re released, like Fallout 3 or, back to the thread at hand, Black Ops. I’ve heard that the unexplained multiplayer lag issue is a massive problem and renders the game almost unplayable for some. So while some games might have a few text inaccuracies or a script that doesn’t fire quite right, some games just don’t work at all once they’re released.
Oh, that reminds me. Trine was released this week for Mac. As soon as people tried to install it: Zilch. Nada. Zip. Zero. Something to do with broken sym links. But a massive oversight by the developers. So I guess Black Ops’s problems could be worse.
He may have meant $US20.
Bought the game yesterday and I must say, the SP is not bad. But I hate it that the game is cut in Germany -.-
That sucks. Its quite violent too, i’d say its the most voilent cod yet, what with it acctually showing the player slitting peoples throat.
In the german version you can see it, too. But there are no flying limbs
lawl. for the ppl waiting for the price drop… pack a bag because MW2 hasn’t even dropped yet. Activision has to be the worst publisher ever. I feel sorry for the ppl that shelled out the cash for both mw2 and black ops.
MW2 did have a sale where it was $50, but yeah, don’t expect price drops.
Well Black Ops finally got it’s patch, but rather than fixing problems it simply changed them; I’ve gone from shitty fps to now having occasional lag spikes and a delay that sometimes gets as bad as 1-2 seconds. Admittedly that’s a huge improvement, but it’s still unacceptable, especially for such a huge insanely high budget game. I was the final death in gun game. On my screen I walked up to someone from about 7 feet while hip-firing the WA2000 into his chest for 4-5 shots. On his screen, I walked towards him without firing, let him shoot and miss and then shot 3 shots 2 feet to his left while he carefully aimed and shot.
It’s 30 USD. I’m surprised that it didn’t go down to $20 when WAW or MW2 came out.
Incoming Hitler rage on YouTube.
It’s not that extreme, but on the 360 (the platform the series is selling the best on, you’d think they’d try to make it the “best” version) that shit is common. It’s usually only about 1 second, but it’s still a pain when you shoot at a guy, he kills you, then the killcam shows you standing there with a stupid look on your face, doing nothing. I don’t mind losing to someone in a air fight, but when the game decides “You didn’t fire a shot, even though you saw 4-5 shots go out” it gets frustrating.
MW2 had this really irritating thing with the M16 where if you died immediately after shooting you would see and hear your shots fire but you would still die without getting a hit.
Another thing, Wager matches need a MUCH bigger pay-off; first place in a wager match gives you 1500 CoD points (1000 points including the 500 buy-in), while an average TDM match gives you 1700-2000 points. I place in the money pretty often in gun game, but it still burns through my points really quickly. Wager matches are meant to be a fun gamble, not a costly entertainment.
^^^^^^66666
I never used the M16, so I wouldn’t know.
Soooooo annoying. It appears I don’t lag in TDM very much, but that’s boring as fuck. Whenever I go over to a wager match I lag my ass off; my ping goes from 150-250, almost never below 200. Almost everyone else always has 50 or 60. WTF?
