Kinda surprised no one made a thread about this yet.

Very good solo campaign. Plot kinda deviates from the CoD norm, since it’s more character based and not about all-out war. Also, you can blow up the enemies’ limbs Soldier of Fortune style.

Still haven’t beat it, but so far it seems lengthier and a bit more varied gameplay wise than MW2.

As for multiplayer, it’s basically MW2 with dedicated servers and slightly more balanced killstreak bonuses and no tactical nuke (as far as I know, the largest killstreak is 11 kills). However the game needs a patch to fix the lag spikes players are getting during the matches and there also seems to be numerous reports of bad graphical performance on MP only.

The server browser is decent enough, at least it’s far better than BC2’s one, and there’s an option to change the field of view in the settings, which is great for me, since I can’t stand the default field of view from MW2.

Anyone else willing to share their opinion on the game?

Haven’t played it yet but I’m probably going to jump in tonight for some SP and maybe MP.

Good to hear the SP is better, I love a good SP campaign and MW2’s was so disappointing.

Also, is it true that kills from kill-streak abilities don’t contribute to the total kill-streak count?

I have heard the single player is better than MW2. I may pirate it, but a buy is out of the question.

Just got it like a few hours ago. The zombie level is epic :smiley: ure characters cuss each otherout lol. It is nice of the makers to add in personality. Also new weps and a different area. It looked like a part of the reich, judging from a balcony overhanging a large room containing flags and a stage

I will pirate it for the SP, but I am extremely reluctant to shell out $60 for another CoD, after MW2 failed so much. I bought MW2 for MP, but it is so bugged, Hacked, and Laggy, that i just stopped playing it. I play it on PC BTW, not console.

Maybe I will buy Black Ops, too. I hope the SP is as good as promised

Christ everyone’s back on the MW2 hate bandwagon. I love seeing the internet consciousness at work.

Though the MP was fairly fubar’d. Not that they tried to fix it much either.

On Topic: How does this stack up against Medal of Honour? I heard that that was pretty disappointing from an SP perspective, though for what it lacks in storytelling it makes up for in Taliban soldiers.

Also: What is Treyarch’s obsession with zombies? They are aware that you can’t fix a mediocre game (cough World at War cough) just by adding calls of “BRAINZ”, right?

Might go and buy Black Ops because wager matches and finally dedicated servers in which admins can boot off players with cheats.

MW2 had an okay single player at best, enjoyable but doesn’t stand out from so many other better games released around that time. Its multiplayer though… was below okay, below multiplayer standards of even the previous Call of Dutys.
Nothing wrong with the game, but not much good about it either.

And TBH I liked World at War. I wouldn’t play it again, but its single player was enjoyable to me, as was MW2s single player, and its zombies mode was and still is very fun.

Ohohoho, just wait to see it in it’s full glory. There’s about… I dunno, 4 minigame easter eggs, one of which is a classic text adventure, one’s chess (Uh… no thank you…) can’t remember the third, but the last one is a third person zombie shooter, Alien Swarm style. And after you beat the campaign. Well, let’s just say that JFK+Shotgun+Zombies=Awsum

What does everyone think of “The Deer Hunter” film scene ripoff. You know, the part where Mason and the other guy are forced to play Russian roulette.

I felt it lacked originality.

It’s extremely difficult to have a conversation about CoD these days (much like halo), because everyone assumes you hate it and try to defend it, or decide to be ‘controversial’ by just saying ‘it’s bollocks’.

Unrelated I know, but this very thing happened to me on the bus this morning :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway I’m not really interested in multiplayer gaming, which is unfortunate because the preowned price is pushed up by the multiplayer. Hopefully I’ll be able to borrow it and get stuck into the campaign.

I might have bought this game if I didn’t waste 50 dollars on mw2. Only afterwards I snapped out of the hype and saw I bought something shitty.

You should at least give the multiplayer a shot, considering it’s the most balanced CoD Multiplayer to date… so far.
