Building a new PC, need suggestions

so am building a new PC for both Gaming and Designing but I want to be around 700-900$

so what I EXACTLY need is this:

1-6Gb DD2 Ram
2-500GB hard Disk
3-1GB Nividia Card
4-a good sound card
5-a good motherboard with a power supply

suggestions would be really appreciated

Don’t you also need a CPU?

Here are my PC’s specs, it’s nothing too special, but it may give you an idea:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 Ghz (quad-core cpu)
4GB DDR3
GeForce 9800GT 1GB
Asus M4A785TD-V EVO (motherboard)
3 HDDs (160gb and 320 gb STA and a 500gb IDE)
Sound card is onboard, but it’s not too bad actually
The power supply is a cheap 750W PSU, but so far it’s been serving me well

so you’re computer runs games smoothly ?

and how much did it cost ya ?

p.s just to let you know that am planning to buy these pieces from Amazon cause here in Jordan they sell PC hardware in ridiculously high prices. so with every piece am intending to buy it will add 16% tax to it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I didn’t buy all that at once, only the cpu, ram and memory were.

But I’d say it cost me around 600€.

Your pc config ist not so good.

My suggestion:

CPU: Amd Phenom II 965 or Intel Core i5 750
Mainboard:Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H or MSI P55-CD53
Ram: buy some random 4gb DDR3 with around 1333mhz. This component has the lowest effect on your system performance.
GPU: Amd 5770 or 5850
PSU: a quality 500W PSU.
HDD : some new Western Digital Blue 640gb plate will be fine.

The amd system would be cheaper and wouldn’t make a big difference on playing games.

If you really need a nvidia graphics card to play with PhysX I would suggest to wait until the GF104 chips come out. GTX470 and 480 are crap.

Why does it have to be nvidia?

Yeah, right now ATI is the better choice. Better price/quality and a bigger offer of cards.

The weakest link is the graphics card really. Still, it runs most new games on max without major performance issues.

I may get a new graphics card in the near future anyway.

This makes nVidia interesting.

Too bad they’re using console footage.

The only out of teh ordinary thing there is good cloth dynamics. PhysX has never been too impressive imho
.

Mafia II physX looks nice, but thats it.

Best bet for a good and cheap graphics card is the 5770.

My friends 5770 caught on fire yesterday. It was hillarious, I saw the whole thing. Wish I had taped it.
For him…not so fun.

I recommend you get
Cray CX1-iWs-X
you don’t have to build it and it is perfect

Here is the computer I’m getting, minus RAM, HDD, and a monitor.

$850

Well, Mr. Shadi, I only know a few good computers, but they’re over $900. They’re very useful though. Here’s on of my favorites that I’m going to buy in a year:

HP TouchSmart Desktop PC with Intel Core i7-720QM Processor, 23" Touch-enabled Full 1080p HD LCD Monitor, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Intel Core i7-720QM processor
6GB memory & 1TB hard drive
23" touchpanel display
Webcam, 6-in-1 card reader, Wi-Fi
Windows 7 Home Premium

HOLY FUCK GET RID OF THAT SIGNATURE! CHRIST FUCK IT’S HUGE!

also never buy desktops from HP

why would you pay more for less? always build your own PC unless you don’t want to play games on it

HP sells desks?

(sarcasm)

so Newegg only creates accounts for US Citizens ? sad =/

edit: it’s sad that Newegg offers great prices but only to US citizens I was really willing to buy from them :frowning:

EDIT2: I found this amazing offer what ya think guys

yes if it worked I’ll buy a good ATI\Nivida card…
