BMS Update suggestion/question?¿?

TBH even if we had a confirmed release date I would check the home page and forums every day, who knows what could happen.

but what happens to the forums after its released :frowning:

“mod sux”

There are always pros and cons. But what about people who want to contribute?
Is it already too late to offer suggestions? Who knows? There isn’t an expected release date.

Ram and myself monitor these forums including most suggestions. We have and still continue to add/modify warranted suggestions into the game.

Protip: The character system was built for not only our needs but due to the demands of the community to asking for more variations of human characters.

Does anyone actually give that big of a shit about Black Mesa any more anyway? I mean it’s great that it’s being worked on and I’m sure people will play it when it’s done. But most people no longer care enough to let their lives revolve around it anyway. People who have completely lost interest in it will undoubtedly come back when it’s released anyway.

Welcome back, level!

weren’t you the guy that was in a car accident and got pretty serious injures? how are you?

I care. I am waiting on the mod with bated breath. However, like hitting the call button on an elevator over and over, I don’t ask for updates. It’ll get here when it gets here. And hitting the button over and over again makes you look like an idiot.

So, until it comes, I chat. And do other things.

^ I’m with daniel on this. I can’t wait until it’s released, but It’s not out yet, so I will, and I’ll do so patiently.

I don’t think that people care any less about it now than they did when it was originally announced. When it was announced it was a “oh shit that’s going to take a while” affair, and now its a “oh shit its been around for ages and finally going to be released” affair. Both of those confer about the same level of excitement.

I think and hope that most of us stays, and people will report bugs and stuff here

I’d be concerned about anyone who ever cared enough to let their lives revolve around it.

Oh, in that case it’s half the forum you should be concerned about

except it’s not.

Title…

thank you for that mini mod moment. Now I dont have to be the only one to say

[COLOR=‘Red’]TOPIC

I don’t get why the devs even care that shit could be used against them. Isn’t something better than nothing?

Considering how many “somethings” they post on the forums, I don’t think it’s fair to demand much else. We’ve seen pretty much the entire mod, minus xen (whether intentional by the BMS team or not, the material is out there, and that should tide us over for the remaining month and a half till the supposed BMS release date)

No. As I said before (possibly even in this thread), who would it satisfy? People on the forum know its going to be released (and possibly even when), so that means an update could ever only possibly satisfy one group of people: lurkers who are too lazy to come on the forums and look for themselves. Or, in another word, Youtubers. And they can’t be readily satisfied.

Why? Well, as soon as you give them an update like “we’ll release by the end of this year”, there’ll be a combination of flames, discontent and idiocy. They will assert that the same promise was made last year, that it means that the mod is dead and the developers are idiots. Anyone who is immediately satisfied will become less so when the updates aren’t constant, and within a few weeks we’ll be right back at this same place, but with more idiots spreading their troll around.

Once its released everybody will download it. If people care enough about the mod to seek out the trailer on Youtube, then they’ll care enough about it to download it when its released. People who announce that “OH BMS IS DEAD RARGH” will be shown to be idiots, just before they themselves go and download it.

Releasing an update over Twitter is, therefore, a zero sum game (at best). It benefits few people, if anyone, and brings with it enough negatives to (at least) negate that small gain.

I read the forums every day, looking for even the smallest bit of new information. Just briefly, of course, but I do care about the mod and so do a lot of other people here.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
