BMS Update suggestion/question?¿?

I <3 Raminator. I check on here about once a week but I just play CS:S, HL2, L4D(2), and other things. I keep busy with RL commitments as well and then time just seems to fly. Sure I get a little frustrated that the mod isn’t out yet, but I just know that the following phrase keeps me going through everyday.

BMS Update 10/24/2010

  • Added rick roll credits to inbound

status : success

Thank god for that update! I mean, I was just about to start thinking that they had actually started working on the mod!

I remember a post by one of the devs saying BM would be done by the end of 2010, it was in someone’s signature for a while with a countdown of how much longer is left.

Has this changed?

The post in question.

Don’t know if your being serious or not, but it made me chuckle nevertheless. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyways, incase you are, I believe that it was Dillxn who had that sig (though correct me if I’m wrong), and it was counting down to the end of 2009 not 2010; 2009 being when the mod was meant to be completed.

Edited the post with the link. Check it out.

Noobs please note that this does not specify a release date, it merely shows not to expect the game before the near end of 2010, but also to expect it before the near end of 2011.

Also, hi to level! Good to see you back.

Actually, it seems to be pretty clear about the fact that the mod will be released before 2011… Hm.

I don’t understand all the crying for updates, especially not recently. I mean, really: with the exception of Xen, which they NEVER planned to show us before release, they have showed us EVERY SINGLE INCH of the game through screenshots and youtube videos. I don’t even really need to play the mod anymore, I’ve seen the whole thing! What are you guys expecting the devs to show us, a close-up on a Houndeye’s rectum? (And actually, if you looked long enough you could probably find that too.)
Twitter updates? The devs have said a million times they’re in beta. They’re past the “Just finished WGH, but still need to get rid of some placeholders” stage. The only Twitter updates they could do would be “Just fixed a bug where the intro skips a frame. Turns out it was a problem with the animation!” That’s fucking BORING. Quit asking for updates, 'cause they’ve shown everything they can before release. And that’s a lot, damn it.

Ah, it seems I missed that, thanks.

Also, something I just stumbled over now, a quote from Ram gives a similiar statement.

Here

What ever are you talking about?

it will be released on Halloween 2012

Screw updates. All I want is the mod.

Fly to California.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but Rams reasons were suggestive. I feel like he called me stupid for having interest in the mod. How hard is it to block those trolls who say dumb things. In all fairness, you did misestimate a release date by a year. Just a thought, Good luck guys - I eagerly await my fav mod  .

That’s the first amount of criticism I have EVER given the mod. Please don’t spam me with hate comments. Just my opinion.

Wait, jameskane… If I flew out to California and hooked up with one of you at some, I dunno, cafe, can I have the mod? I’d do it. Like, after finals… which are in 2 weeks…

Blocking trolls is easy, stopping them from coming back is a completely different thing.

:[ :frowning:

Sorry I Didn’t notice it, i was moving house that day, I moved 700 km away from where I used to live, to Portland
thanks yo

Probably only if your date had a happy ending.

I don’t care for updates much anymore. Only updates I need are either A). Release date, or B). Release.

Other than that I’m happy with the info I get from the devs on the forums.

Like what was said before, there’s not much more for media either, because we’ve seen most of everything. What do you want them to say or show? If they say “We’re finishing up Xen right now”, then people will say “EGADS! It’s almost out!”, and if they say “We just started OAR.”, then everyone assumes they’re only halfway finished. It’s been said billions of times before, people make too many assumptions that usually come back to bite them in the ass for it to be worth the time.

Developers skip around, work on different parts instead of going in order, then fix what needs to be fixed so it’s seamless. Just wait for it and stop asking. Thousands have tried already, and it’s unlikely another thousand’ll make a difference. You’ll always be answered with a “Nope.”, or some sarcastic or smug remark. Be patient and glad they’re even taking time out of their lives to do this, when they could keep it to themselves or not do it at all.

Just login to the bms twitter and type “b”

Problem Solved.

Also you should close the comments on the YT page.
