Don’t lie, it was yesterday.
Ravenholm was only scary for me coz I didn’t know how to turn on the flashlight!
I have the demo and I played that before HL1, I was such an idiot
for me, the scariest part in HL2 was the blocked tunnel in Sandtraps. especially the music.
Man, so wanna buy Half-Life Complete from Steam atm, but waiting for a sale, coz im cheap XD
Scariest Half Life moment for moi was Nova Prospekt. The headcrab hiding in the tunnel near the entrance leapt at me as soon as the music went louder, making for a terrifying combination.
Although there was this one time in HL1…
You see, I can avoid barnacles really well and I’ve memorised all their positions in the game. So you can imagine my surprise at being caught by one in blast pit (in the room full of hooks). The harsh breathing of the creature freaked me out and I fired of ten rounds from the MP5 before I calmed down. Terrifying stuff.
the single scariest moment for me in HL2 was in that house at the base of the Highway 17 bridge. I went up to the top floor, and this poison headcrab zombie pops out of nowhere. made me scream aloud.
hahaha yeah.
Scariest moment in HL1 for me was the first fight with the Icthyosaur. I decided to take it on with just a corwbar (I killed it ) it was so nuts swimming madly for air with an angry aquatic monster on my tail
I think the fight against the gargantuas are kinda scary, like in chapter “Power up”. You have to run away from it, and while you escape, you can hear it running after you with his huge arms. And you cant kill em easily, which makes them even creepier.
I wouldn’t say that was scary though. Tense definately, but not scary.
Haha, I ditched the car there and went the rest of the way on foot.
Maybe tomorrow will be your lucky day since HL1 came out on november 19th 1998, so they’ll probably do a huge discount on all HL games. I think last year HL1 was $0.98
Last year was the 10th anniversary though which is more of a milestone than 11 years.
Shh…
Oh geez I completely forgot about that part. Yeah, I remember being pretty low on health at the time too – I was specifically exploring the house looking for more medpacks. Then that thing popped out of nowhere… the only thought crossing my mind at the time was “how do I get out of this damn house?”
Ah, good times.
Technically 11 years is more of a milestone than 10.
OT: Hearing the garg’s roar was always the scariest for me.
On subject: Hands down, make it a thriller.
