Black Mesa - Will it be scary?

i have to say, there were some parts in the games where i got the shit scared right out of me. i think that the part where you go into the top of the house on highway 17 and you run into that poison zombie. but all i remember is that i felt like i was going to throw up, shit, and piss myself all at once.

I got a little scared in that darkened area in EP1 where Alyx makes a zombie sound and then says “HAHA! Gotcha!”

So, what scares you, O master of the universe?

Germaine: “Pfuh, so what’s YOUR biggest fear?”
Foamy: “Exploding teeth.”
Germaine: “…what?!”
Foamy: “You know how stuff shrinks and expands when comes in contact with hot or cold.”
Germaine: “Yeah…?”
Foamy: “My biggest fear is eating ice cream then drinking hot coffee and having my teeth explode due to the extreme change of temperature. Kinda like when you clean out a hot glass coffee pot with cold water sometimes they shatter.”
Germaine: “Get the fuck out of here.”
Foamy: “Seriously, I knew a squirrel that had hot cocoa and then iced coffee and all his teeth blew up in his head. Horrible!”

I don’t know. When I find it, I’ll tell you. But i’ve been meaning to get around to playing Silent Hill.

I think it should have scary parts. There were clearly areas in HL1 where the devs tried to scare us (even though most never worked) and it’s more evident by some of the scary music made specifically for those parts (and reused in hl2). Question is, will Black Mesa remake those scares that failed with the same degree of failure, or will they succeed in creating an atmosphere that lends a hand to the scary segments to make them actually scary?

I think more the second option.

lol wat, don’t you think it’s a zombie making a zombie sound, and Alyx saying that as a reaction to shooting said zombie?

THINK

[EDIT] There is no “space” between “e” and “p”. Don’t know why it looks like there is…

[EDIT2] Fuck me if I missed the sarcasm.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
