No he doesn’t. He hasn’t finished his story yet. He’ll get his own genre when he finishes Ep3.
I think Half-Life is a pretty cool guy. eh deserves his own genre and doesnt afraid of anything.
I agree.
^ He asked for it…
it doesnt seem that scary
For me, Black Mesa facility is scarier than Ravenholm. The atmosphere is different between HL and HL2, HL having a much darker and claustrophobic environment. And there is something about low-polygons that freaks me out… :jizz:
Ravenholm was pretty much the first scary thing I’ve ever played, so yeah, that was quite freaky. I love playing through it now though. HL1 wasn’t really scary for me, but it is good in terms of action and suspense.
They tried in EP2 where you try to get the car off the bridge.
A fastzombie jumps out at you after it’s moans being heard for about 15 minutes, but it wasn’t really scary. Just annoying.
HL1 doesn’t have any scary moments. There is the odd occasion in “On a Rail” when you can hear those strange moaning noises in the tunnels, but the setting is well lit and there are no other unusual occurrences.
You mean you guys didnt get scared? :’(
I always felt it was a little creepy in my younger years of playing it. but nothing to bad. personally there should be some fear included in the game, you k’nw just a few hundred aliens running around killing people? it would make me a bit edgy in reality. i think they have included some dark parts of the game whee you will find yourself walking slow and being careful.
So why for me most scaring part of all HL2 series was being chased by antlion guardian in caves?
Everything that scares counts as scary. Easy.
I’ve never been properly scared by any game and most games that aim to scare are mostly pathetic in their attempts.
Doom 3 was abysmal in terms of everything and was more laughable that scary. As for FEAR, it relied to much on sudden loud noises and cheap tricks. Again, not scary.
Half-Life moments that stick in my mind are purely down to tension, being chased by a Garg or Ichtyosaur or the Antion Guard in episode 2. I wouldn’t call this scary as such.
Both of those things you descibed are basically the definition of “scary” which is a pretty general term anyway.
Just what the fuck IS “scary” then?
I think this thread is about the horror kind of scary, not the startle kind.
BOO[/SIZE]
:aah:
Closet-zombies want your brains…
I remember when I was Hiding behind the corner wondering how I am going to get past this God-Forsaken monster then I remebered: “Oh yeah! I can save before I go out there and die.”
And then I got used to the “HOLY-AHH!-SHIT!” moments.
It will be not scary. Just think…how it will be scary. This game is just fun. Scary games anyway are not scary
I look at scary moments with awe, just for how well it’s done and put together.
