SUMMARY

Black Mesa Swarm is an Alien Swarm total conversion remaking Valve Software’s award-winning PC game, Half-Life.

Utilizing the Source engine, Black Mesa Swarm will reintroduce the player as Doctor Gordon Freeman, along with the original cast of memorable characters and environments seen in Half-Life.
Black Mesa Swarm was built and founded on the basis that Black Mesa Source was inadequate as the Source engine port of Half-Life, regardless of the intentions of the Black Mesa Source team.
As such, Black Mesa Swarm was founded to fully reconstruct the Half-Life universe utilizing Source to its fullest potential in terms of art detail, level sizes and code features.

This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source to play - only a copy of Alien Swarm installed on Steam (which is free!). For more details, check the System Requirements.

I don’t want to discredit others’ work, especially when they’re doing it for free and out of a desire to a) communicate an artistic perspective b) break into the industry and make bank c) copy a shitty PopCap game from 5 years ago. Is it real? Sure, maybe. Heck, I bet it’s pretty fun as long as it doesn’t just throw endless waves of enemies at you, and stays true to the original. But if anyone believes this is going to take the place of BM, I’ll be forced to take away ALL of their plastic bags and ALL of their spray cans.

Man, Ram, I’d be shitting my pants if I were you right now. There are so many other HL remakes being developed that are far better than your from the ground up reenvisioning of the game. Like… a top down third person one.
