Black Mesa Research Facility ARG?

O_o

Yeah yeah. I’m doped up on pain killers for my poor ol’ finger.

What’s wrong with you, man?!

I downloaded that resonance cascade video and this is what I saw when I converted it: Lightning, Soldiers repelling from helicopters, and Gman’s face.

I don’t know what else this has to do with anything, but I wanted to contribute

I have no idea.

Never give up.

this guy would SO have you all if he threw in a keylogger somewhere on the site.

I shoulda been banned years ago, but whatever.

It appears that everyone has missed a couple small details that makes me think that this isn’t some prick building a fan-based ARG.

If this BMRF website was originally made years ago, before being taken down then reposted, why the hell did it take this long to notice it? I would have figured that something like Kotaku or the Steam guys woulda noticed this thing along time ago if this thing was set on a loop. That, to me, suggests that this ARG might be on a loop, but it was recently started. If that is the case, then the 25th will be really damn important.

Next, even if this ARG IS that old, it doesn’t explain the Aperture references. If the ARG site was launched in '05, then this guy must have some really good sense of prediction, because the first views of Portal didn’t come out 'till early '06, I think, and even then, Aperture was barely what it is now.

I don’t know what you are all thinking, but it seems to me like there are still a couple of unexplained bugs in this whole setup. While this ARG has been fun, I don’t think it’s Valve’s; it’s no where near clever or hard enough. This leads me to believe that it is indeed the BM Devs, as the timing fits nicely w/ the 2010 release date originally laid down last year.

EDIT:
Of course, that theory only holds alittle water. It appears that the story of this ARG doesn’t line up with what BM is supposed to be. Which actually shoots my thought in the head. But my points of the date issue still stand ground: it’s too old to be coincidence, and must have been intentionally set up to confuse us players.

I dont know if im the first one that caught this but, im pretty sure this is the song Hal 9000 sings while being deactivated… Might have something to do with Portal 2?

Except for the web page where the guy explains that it is?

He also pointed out the date problems, which I’m not sure about myself. The site also mention something about being exempt from some government thing, which was mentioned in those slideshows in portal.

The denial on his site could be the BM devs testing our dedication; if we’re true fans, we’ll keep on looking for flaws like that.

Optimism is fun, isn’t it?

ROFL

Gotta start checking the milk cartons in the store for some clues on the BM release :rabies:

On topic: has anyone emailed that dude yet?

Why don’t you do it? Are you afraid? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ian Wiese cracked morse code only to find that some one already cracked it :stuck_out_tongue: curse you vortogore.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!: Valve decided to draw another concept sketch! See it this winter maybe! (or maybe the following winter)

What the fuck are you talking about?

Realizes you are possibly inquiring about Episode 3
Pretends not to hear you
Releases L4D3

What? You’re not making any sense.

he is saying Valve shows very little or teases something and doesn’t even follow through on that. then releases games no one was waiting for instead of finishing what everyone wants.

while I disagree with him it seems pretty clear that’s what he is getting at.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
