Wrong thread, man!
While I understand what he’s getting at, it seems pretty clear that it’s completely irrelevant and off-topic thus making no sense.

ah. ponit taken
eta: point. even
The only thing I have to add is the disclaimer said it was a fan project not associated with Valve, the same way that Black Mesa is a fan project no associated with Valve, but I guess it doesn’t matter now.
Is anyone else really pissed off at this guy? The only ARGs I’ve ever seen have to do with the announcement of something cool and interesting. There are two highly anticipated products (Ep3 and BM), either of which could easily be announced through an ARG like this. Pulling crap like this just diminishes a previously fun and engaging way to announce new games (and the occasional shaky-cam movie).
hehehe nice one…
I gotta disagree with you though, if you Wiki ARGsyoull see there have been some in the past which were just for fun and did not actually announce anything.
They were pretty massive in scale though and had some rather large prizes too… :o

Well, Did we win?
Awesome. Now, ask him all the questions you have!
Can I get a quick summery on whats going on in here? To many pages to read…so little time.
The link you gave him isn’t complete.

will ask.
It was fine in the email, I checked it. The editor simply changed the “name” of the link automatically.
Some guy created a BM incident ARG, we think we (well, Narthorn mostly) solved it and now we contacted that guy.
Yeah I read the first 8 or so pages. What was the all mighty mystery’s secret answer?

Here’s the progress I made (sort of a recap)
From https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/, you find a link at the bottom with the text “sos. resources cut off. send you data in parts. digital rift surrounding mesa area. not exact science.”
The link takes you to the YouTube video “Weird Interference” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViLbPHX6LL8
The video is uploaded by MrNerfTron, who has a blogspot at https://nerftron.blogspot.com/
From there, there’s a link to a Flickr album by wadesworldNM: https://www.flickr.com/photos/45835976@N06/
The user wadesworldNM has a Vimeo account and video called “Odd Audio” https://vimeo.com/8480178
Reverse the audio in the video, and you get this: https://www.tindeck.com/listen/poec
Keep an eye on the 25th of this month.
Oh, duh! It was staring me right in the face, how could I be so stupid?
Guess not.

The only difference is that they only devoted 4 pages to ‘submit a application and see what happens hur hur’ and we (not me) dedicated 16 to actually figuring out hidden messages. Which I guess isn’t all that difficult.
Correct.
Also,
They: EP3, OMG; not from VALVe = disappointment = fake = shit
Us: BM: S, OMG; not from dev team = disappointment = um, well = cool
EDIT:
Sorry johnyo, I missed your post somehow.
Stupid date formats, how do they work? :hmph:
So we were solving it parallelly (?).
lol, that is so true!
I quoted you and only added the dates. You didn’t miss anything.
This. I spent like 5 minutes trying to work out what date format each of the forums uses. I still don’t understand why anyone would put month before the date…
Apparently… :s hrug:
[EDIT] freakin ghostpage. Where’s Strangelove when you need him?!
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
