Black Mesa Research Facility ARG?

Damn, I didn’t know what does the word ‘aperture’ mean until now.

I ran into an article on Wikipedia about software called Apple Aperture, and then I was all “OMG APARTURE IZ A WORD NO WAI”, so I entered “Aperture”, and saw this image

and then I was all “OMG TAHT WAS TOTTULY IN DAT WUIRD VIDEO WEN TEH KLOCK MORFED!!11!!!1one”

And I was so excited that I accidentally pressed the hotkey for posting before I finished writing this post.

Anyway, the conclusion of this elongated and over-informative post is that the ARG creator was referring to Aperture Science in that video (no shit). :hmph:

EDIT: I already stated that it resembles a “camera objective”, but it had no meaning until now.

Alright so I essentially have been following this thread everyday now (since the first post) and I re-read almost everything here and one question still confuses me.

I know where the first part of the transmission is, same with the third, and the fourth. Where is the second transmission located? (I know what the end result and everything was but I couldn’t find the second one). First one is in the source code of the webpage, fourth is in the email, third is in the image (open up in notepad).

Kinda confused, can anyone help me out?

The second binary code can be located in the email header after sending an employment request with a fake name, I believe. I have it right here:

110110100101101101011001010110111000111010010001 11010001110010110100110011001110000011100000110011 00101110001000000101001101101001011011010111010101 101100011000010111010001101001011011110110

With that, your full binary would be:

01010011011010010110110101110101011011000110000101110100011010010110111101101110001000000110010001100001011101000110000100100000011001100110111101110010001000000111001101110000011001010110001101101001...

It will translate to:

Simulation data for specimen:GG-3883.
Simulation result: Resonance Cascade
Scenario Inevitable.

Open the GLaDOS console you found (if you found it) and import the employment application form sent to you by Olivia (if you got it) to a program like GIMP. A red text from Olivia will appear on the imported .pdf and tell you to go to the address fsrag.blackmesaresearchfacility.com. Enter the password cheesecake in the GLaDOS console and you will be able to get into the Remote Access for 30 seconds. Upload the binary code before your 30 seconds are up.

And with that, this ARG is put to rest… Boooooring.

Actially no, the only thing that’s boring, akiv12801, is your ability to criticize. Maybe we should wait on you to bring a self made ARG to our attention, that would perhaps be a bigger challenge?

Huh, what’s that you say? Oh, yeah, that’s right - you flippin’ CAN’T.

pwnt

Isn’t something supposed to happen tomorrow?

Pretty sure the ARG just resets. ;]

Uh, I’m not sure if it was like this before, but if you go to the site now, its…different.

Haha, awesome.

The secret sucks though.

…Wish BM came out today…

Wait, what was the secret?

That you kept the Resonance Cascade from happening.

Yes, it’s different. https://blackmesaresearchfacility.com/

The file name for animation is fail.swf, does that mean we failed to reverse it? I have the cookie that makes the website think I uploaded the files although I haven’t.

YT, Vimeo, flickr and blog are still there and unchanged.

Holy crap G-man scared me. Is there anything on this page if there is we have to find it today

There is a video, in the source code. It was pretty dull. Not sure if there are any hints in the video.

what video is it resonance cascade/avi?

its this guy

Thanks! :awesome: How did you figure it out so fast?
