For a moment there. I was thinking that HL2:Ep3 was going to be about going to the Borealis and finding that the Combine were close to completing the portal tech to invade. And it’s Gordon and Alyx’s mission to rather use the portal to time travel back prior to the RC.
Was fun reading the thread though.

The ARG was themed around sending a data package back in time. Prior to the discovery it’s on a loop, I thought it was about HL2:Ep3 release. As we all know, Ep3 is about getting to the Borealis ship to stop the combine from using the Aperture technology to flood Earth with the rest of the invasion force. So I was thinking in terms of mixing those together, that instead of breaking the portal device. Kleiner helps Gordon and Alyx rework the portal to send them back in time pre-RC to stop the whole chain reaction from ever occurring.
Though I now see this would thus end the Half-Life story. And I want a Half-Life 3.
