Black Mesa Machinima: "Don't Forget Me".

I thought of this idea quite a while ago, and it was originally for a different mod, but I think it would work quite well with Black Mesa.

Here is the detail:

"This machinima is set in Black Mesa, it follows the story of a scientist called Norman Van-Croft who has been filming vlogs of himself everyday, There is going to be 20 episodes, the first one is just before the Resonance Cascade happens.

All the episodes are going to be Vlog recordings, he will take you through the events happening at Black Mesa, all the way to surviving against the Xen creatures, and barricading his room from HECU enemies.

Coming Soon."

What do you guys think?
I think it would be fun and simple to do, I’m going to have to lern2faceposer.

If anyone wants to take part, that would be great. :3

Cool idea. I’d like to help, but I have no idea how to do anything like that. I’ve just played around with GMod a little >>

Also, why does the scientist have worms crawling under his face?

And yeah, I have the script all planned and everything, all I need is the scientist model (Have to wait obvsly)

And I will be doing the voice acting, if anyone else wants to do voice acting, they can, just not sure what for though, as this scientist is the only person you see.

My previous ideas were never done, because they didn’t have a solid idea to it, but I think I’m most likely able to do this.

You should add in a grainy lens effect or something to the video if he’s doing it from a normal webcam.
I like the idea, maybe have the camera swing around the first time to show his dorm room/lab, all nice and organized, and in each one afterwards it’s more disorganized and run-down.
And have the lights flicker at the end of the first episode, with Norman saying “What the hell?” and turning off the webcam as he turns around.
I like the idea, and hope you can pull it off. If you can map, start orange mapping the area now so it just needs textures and BM-specific models when the mod is released. :wink:

There’s no reason to hyphenate “Van-Croft.” And what is the deal with those weird sharpen artifacts on the scientists face in the OP?

Love the idea. I’m getting GMod very soon and I’m diving straight into it and going to try and use it for my own machinima as well.

If you ever need help with voice acting I would like to help. I’m more of a cinematographer and writer than I am a voice actor(20 yrs old, but voice isn’t all that deep :frowning: ) but I can act and record clearly which is better than most.

FGD won’t give you the models, just allows you to map within the mod.
