Black Mesa Induction

Thanks for noticing, completely oversaw that  .

I just saw those pics on modDB and frankly I love the lobby you made for the dormitories. It reminds me of the aesthetics of the advanced research labs from Questionable Ethics, with several large window under the barren sky.

Some more media! Heavy WIP. Need feedback.

First thing, donā€™t overuse repair props around every corner of the map unless you specifically want to show that these dormitories are a recent installation in Black Mesa. That said, I like the double entrance with glass panels, it looks more inviting than accesses in the test labs facilities. I also want to ask, will you add some kind of sliding glass doors there? It would look quite nice, but may require a new model since all glass doors Black Mesa look more solid for security purpose.

The repair props are there because there are a couple of broken tiles (which you canā€™t see in this screenshot) and thereā€™s a broken elevator.

I might add sliding doors, who knows. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you ever been around ceiling tiles? You donā€™t really need tools to repair a couple of fallen ones. Remember that you donā€™t need to feel every last area with a random prop for it to be ā€œdetailedā€ and look good.

The ladder is for the tiles, and the tools are for the elevator.

Hey, dumb question. What model is that electronic security sign? How do I find it in SDK?

Filter the model browser for ā€œledā€.

Well most of the time, they just have a bag with them, not such a trolley

Final hallway.

Final hallway. :freeman:

That is incredible.

Iā€™ve always found it strange how those doors say ā€œAuthorised Personnel Onlyā€ when Black Mesa is inside the US.

Youā€™re just sorta obsessed with doors, huh? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, thereā€™s lots of little issues like that in Black Mesa. Some of the signs, for instance, have European styling.

Thatā€™s the kind of thing I hope they fix in the actual mod when the full version comes out. The km/H reading on the OaR tram, for instanceā€¦ this is a facility in the United States run (in part) by the US government. Why the European style signage?

Changed the lighting.
OK, ITā€™S DONE NOW. God.

I also canā€™t sleep. Can someone knock me out with a crowbar please?

Ehā€¦ Itā€™s a science facility. I suppose they decide to use metric measurements in the Black Mesa facilityā€¦ Similar to how the US military sometimes uses metric.

My guess is that itā€™s just something they either didnā€™t consider, or figured most people would just gloss over.
