I didn’t make it, I was just giving an example.
Instead of buying a printer (because this would probably be the only time i would use it) do you guys know of any “kiosks” that print discs? or even better someone here can make me one? id send a couple bucks in return
And music - who the hell actually uses CD’s anymore. The first thing I do with one is rip it to my PC, then bury it in a box with all the other disks that will be never used again.
And movies.
Get with the times, entertainment industry.
Then buy the sticky labels and print it on one of those then. That was the first option I told you about. Learn to read dude.
Also, whoever made that CD label - what does “gamernode” have to do with the mod and why is it on there? Didn’t they merely host the forums a while ago? Does that really earn them a prominent place on your fantasy disk label? REALLY? Or did/do they have more involvement behind the scenes?
I still use CDs. And LPs. Putting music on a memory stick would make the compression process more complicated for most people, and they wouldn’t be able to handle it :retard:
Rofl. That made me laugh my ass off. There is so much wrong with that statement that it’s hard to find a good place to start.
1: Most people these days prefer to have music on their PC’s.
2: How in the holy hell do you come to the conclusion that “putting music on a memory stick would make the compression process more complicated for most people”?
3: CD’s already use a form of compression. No-one said that the flash-drive versions would have to be in a different format - in fact, it would be nice if they kept the music files just as they are, only on a flash-drive instead of a CD.
4: How does any of this make it more complicated for most people? If you can muster the co-ordination to plug your flash-drive into your USB port, then you’ll have no problems.
5: No-one said they would have to stop selling CD’s. We only said they should START selling music etc on flash-drives. Then people would have a choice. Idiots like you that have no idea what you’re talking about can then stick to CD’s and sit there scared of change and things you don’t understand, while the rest of the planet moves onto better forms of data storage.
Number 1, 3 and 4 are mine
It’s good you posted them up because I reformatted and lost them
EDIT: The cd cover and the covers go with them are also mine and another old forum member named Leerfaufposes or something like that.
Way to be an aggressive douchebag.
As do I, but I still pop in a CD every now and then, and I’m sure a lot of other people do too.
I meant that most people put music on their PCs using iTunes or WMP or something else that automatically converts the music to MP3 or some other lossy format.
If you switch to memory sticks, those programs will have to be modified or other programs will have to be used, which is more than the average user (i.e. people who aren’t computer-savvy) can handle.
On the other hand, such a program could simply be included on the memory stick itself, or it could just include MP3 versions, making it super-easy, which is something I didn’t think of when I wrote my previous post.
Thanks for jumping to conclusions about me based on one post for no reason at all.
:awesome:
ignore this accidental post
Oh god please dont start fighting. (but i guess that’s inevitable seeing that this is the internet.)
I was asking if anyone knew of a kiosk or if someone could make me one because I don’t like the idea of putting a sticker on a disc. 1. Being me I could easily mess it up 2. I don’t want it to come off anytime soon (how tough are the stickers anyways?) 3. If I were to burn a cover on, its not coming off.
Yay for fucking jumping to conclusions. First off I hate being insulted like this, I really do, it’s why I rarely use forums. Second you already said that the sticky labels were lame. And third What The Fuck makes you think this is my fantasy disc label!? Do you really think I’m that obsessed over this thing? (I have no idea what gamernode is, again, I was just giving an example of a disc cover)
Lets all take a chill pill and go back to being happy? Especially Shasta. For being made of bubbly goodness, you certainly aren’t acting very "shasta"like lately eh? Anyone with me for happyness? Hugz for anyone that needs it! I am a great hugger!
Also, I updated the names of those covers for you _∂lpha#. Next time I update the gallery, you will see them with your names on them. =-)
Billyboi456 I am wondering if Walmart or Walgreens does something like that. Perhaps ask them if they know who could do something like that. I know I prefer to not put stickers on my cd’s/dvd’s as well, so I may be looking into this as well.
Anyone else have any new art for us?
Yay for hugs! I’ll go check that out at the stores when I get the chance. I probably wont be able to for the next few weeks, though. This week is the end of break (studying). Next week is review week at school and the week after that is finals. I’m gonna be very busy.
- stopped at best buy, bought a pack of 2 cds with the dvd size cases, put the covers in the cases, waiting for BM to be released*
just about sums up what i just did they look awesome
Well, as promised I had a go at recreating the original (cardboard) box I had for Half-Life for BMS:
Here is a high-res copy of draft #2 (including running the text through a spell checker!):
bmscover_8b.jpg ( Warning: 4.3MB )
I still want to improve the text-effects on the front cover, so I may post an improved version in the next few days.
Been following the forums for a few months and figured I would do the installer for you guys and who knows maybe the Team will even use my work for their executable that they distribute. I build MSIs for a living.
I’ll probably browse through the covers and use whatever images that would work best with the installer of course with credit to the original authors.
I’ll keep you guys up to date.
chrisp… we need the hi rez for the gallery please!
Welcome Saftle!
That would be awesome, thanks!
Considering this is my fav dvd cover - I’ve just noticed you’ve used the logo I created a while back !!
How much space is BM supposed to take up anyways? Im assuming that I’ll have to burn it to a dvd not a cd.
The FAQ says ~3GB Compressed, so will easily fit on a single layer dvd
EDIT: I’ve made some revisions to my cover - Catz, could you post this one on your gallery:
Improved the definition of the Mesa, changed run, think, etc text to a font more like the original box, improved BMS title effects, fixed grammer mistake in text, and some others - Edit2: You could also see some of the screenshot overlays on the rear shots - so i’ve removed them to! Probably won’t be the last but that’s certainly it for now!
