Black Mesa: Blueshift

I felt this section could do with a tiny bit more gameplay, so i’ve added a few extra things in.

Aha! I know that place too. It’s the Black Mesa South Access where the Sentry Turrets are set up next to the Army Truck, and the control panel is smashed out preventing access.

Sure is

Looks nice!
How many more minutes do you think you’ll be able to cram in this area? Blue Shift is pretty short, so every second counts!

I’m loving how all of this looks so far, nice work!

Is it the place right after you rose up from the sewers?

Yep

“pretty short” :hmph:
Nobody watched my Let’s Play anyway.
Edit: Fuck, if I leave it as “my LP” it will say my(abbreviated)little pony!
I can’t have that!
Edit Edit: Wait nobody cares
Edit Edit Edit: Screw it, I’m too lazy to hold down the delete key this long anyway.
Edit Edit Edit Edit: And yet I still keep typing these edits.
Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit: I should stop before this becomes spam.
Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit Edit: Damn, there goes another.

Are you gonna have awesome brush trains like this because no models?

Wouldn’t it make sense for the modeler to model them if it’ll look better?

CTRL+A Delete, derp.

But do they have a dedicated modeller?

You don’t think that badass hand model just materialized on it’s own, do you?

I should be able to craft something a little better haha with brushes that is. That or I learn how to model which shouldn’t be too difficult.

I had a modeler. But my messages are no longer being returned so who knows what’s happening there.

If you tell me where to get those, I love you for eternity.

Besides Zero, do you have another modeler?

Nope, and Zero hasn’t been replying to my messages so as I said not sure what’s happening there.

Probably thinks I don’t work on it anymore since I don’t use the SDK launcher so it looks like I’m doing nothing lol.

So u can add the worker again placed in the other post!

Well I know he did, but I wasn’t sure if he was still around.

And there we have it, unfortunately.

I made them in Hammer, out of brushes. The red and green one are HL2 textures normally used for brush shipping containers, but they are used once in d1_trainstation_06 as (small and unusually designed) box cars. (See hereandhere). They look okay, not amazing. My favourite is the third one, which takes a door texture used once (afaik) in HL2 for a broken shipping container puzzle in Water Hazard. The wall I’m not 100% sure where it’s from, but it’s a Black Mesa texture. The two seemed similar, so I put them together, and they blended wonderfully!

The structure itself is very simple, I just joined 2 HL2 train005.mdl’s together, and hid the extra set of wheels in the middle by having the green metal ‘skirt’ extend down low enough to block them almost entirely. Hammer picture:

I use 2 because 1 is short, much too short for an American train imo. It worked fine for HL2’s trains, but I don’t think it fits modern American standards, where box cars are much longer and wider than HL2’s examples.

Woah woah im back guys sorry been very busy lol! Skyms has his modeller dont worry, btw to commemorate Ilopns model pack release I made a new set of hands which look much nicer based on M4tlocks hands (same ones Ilopn used for his hev hands). Stay tuned
