Black Mesa AI?

Pretty simple: Make a Skill.cfg file then type “cvarlist sk_” in the console, it’ll give you a list of commands for the entities you want to nerf… take note, I did this before.

Input the commands into your cfg then input the values you want.

The health & damage nerf I did made it 3-4x as hard, but 3-4x better… at some points you’re going to wish you had a shitload of medkits laying around.

The most irritating part had to be in EP2 with the hunters… 340 health and your damage being halved didn’t help much with out any pulse rifle grenades.

I hope Hgrunt gas-mask models have green eyes. Instead of the stupid current one.

Why would it have green “eyes” ?

If you’re talking about NVG stuff, it’s not included in the mask.

There is no way to tell, we don’t even have a decent picture fo the gasmask soldier.

Are there even gaskmask variations of the soldiers? (only headgear i thought were helmets, berets and sunglasses)

Yeah, but no clear pictures of one.

I don’t think the gas mask will differ much from this one.

Green looked awesome back in HL1. But I think clear makes more sense here.

agreed. Half-Life had a cartoony, not realistic feel to it, almost.

you’re so blunt :U
you remind me of Kerc from HIT.

Hey guys, everyone knows that Combine’s AI is a way better than HECU-soldier’s. But HECU SEEMS to be smarter, because they actually are humans. They want live much more than almost suicidal combines. From a script HECU soldiers is human who have fear, they have what to lose - life, children and wives… and combines is processed humans who have nothing, no feelings at all… they are just cannon fodder. So they act like cannon fodder, no matter how intellegent are they. And there is no way to compare their AI. Valve done great work - you actually feel whom you fight.

I’ve just done half-life: Source (and AI there is some form of HECU-unit mixed up with combines, and HECU soldiers in HL:S is smarter than original, and SEEM smarter than combines). If it be like this - everyone will be happy. We can’t wait for F.E.A.R.-like AI from free TC… Scripted scenes will have done their work like it was in original HL.

Oh here we go, another guy who has no idea what he’s talking about.

Another one?!?

Ccoma. That’s… Just not how AI works. The soldier doesn’t “know” he’s any more of a human than a Combine. He doesn’t know he has a wife and child to go home to, so he can’t fight with any more passion than his health, weapon power, environment, and coding allow.

/serious
Once we start telling “AI”'s that they’ve got kids, and they can respond accordingly, we’re gonna see some big problems. Like, you’ll start up the game, a soldier will load in, think “Oh my fucking god, AGAIN. You know what. That’s it. I’m doing this for you, Julie!” ERROR: VIRUS DETECTED! HARD-DISK DRIVE DATA DUMP ACTIVATED!

When AI becomes self-aware like that, games will become retarded :3

and humans will become dead

There won’t be any virtual army members. They’ll all have gone AWOL.

I for one accept our new AI-driven overlo-
Wait, no I don’t. FOR FREEDOM!

FOR PONY!!!

Wait, wrong comic…

[COLOR=‘Red’]Topic, bitches.

So about that AI, eh? Pretty epic stuff, I hear.

But on a more serious note, the PCPP article revealed that the tentacle in power-up was one of the hardest AI’s to make, because most of its movements aren’t pre-scripted (or something to that effect) but rather physically simulated. What does this mean for us in terms of HL’s tentacle vs. BM’s tentacle?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
