Dr. Strangelove’s humor & political stuff isn’t really relatable anymore. When I watched it, It made me smirk a few times, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone under 25.
Of course they were made before that. I’ve just seen The Lost World from 1925
My favourite B&W movie is definatly Night of the Living Dead
Germans+sarcasm= recipe for disaster
Not sure if silent movies are okay, but Metropolis. It’s absolutely amazing. Call of Cthulhu is also in black and white, silent too, though it was made just a few years ago. Another movie adapting a Lovecraft story is coming out soon as well, the Whisperer in Darkness.

Although it’s not exactly known for its witty dialogue, in my opinion, the best Black and White film was the original version of Cape Fear starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum. it’s one of the best chillers I have ever seen, plus, being filmed in Black and White made it even more atmospheric. The final fight scene at the end of the film has to be one of the greatest ever cinematic moments.
I also recommend the movie Stalker
Like “Wizard of Oz” and “Gone with the Wind”, right? :3
I’ve been wanting to watch Stalker, but the price tag was too high. Is it in black and white?
The original “The Phantom of the Opera.”
Night of the Hunter is another good one. Manchurian Candidate, Psycho, Les Diaboliques, and Casablanca too.
If you folks haven’t gotten to see any of Buster Keaton’s material yet, here’s a wonderful sampler:

I’m only 67% suck :retard:
Oh heck yeah, I forgot them for a moment. Marx Brothers were fantastic for witty dialogue and may be right down the OP’s alley. Even with that strength, they still mastered visual entertainment - - there’s a mirror in Duck Soup nobody should ever forget.
But I confess, the only reason I got around to seeing Marx Brothers, Buster Keaton, and some other classics is because my sister minored in Film History. I did see The Great Dictator on my own accord, though, and I’d strongly recommend that one too, as it contains one of the greatest movie speeches ever written.
(… though, personally, I did not like The Maltese Falcon )
I’d vote for The Call of Cthulhu, it was an independent black and white that was made about 3 years ago and quite good if you’re into Supernatural Horror.
The miracle worker
it almost made me cry in the end
FUCK I FEEL MANLY
The only black and white movie i like is A Hard Day’s Night… It’s kind of a stupid movie though, but i find it funny.
King kong and metropolis
Oh, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Good luck finding it, though. I had to download it off of Veoh and even then part of it was corrupted. The dance scene, too :meh: .

I second King Kong, too. Any of Akira Kurosawa’s movies are good too. I’d especially recommend Yojimbo and Sanjuro.
King Kong
