Bioshock: Infinite

So they’re making another Bioshock but this time about a city in the sky instead of underwater.

I like it, what do you guys think?

Sounds like it could be interesting.

They’re definitely right about the ‘American Obnoxious’ style

!
Impressive, I…I…Impressive!

Awesome.

If IG keep this up they will create the greatest game they have ever made, and perhaps the greatest game for some time.

Irrational, keep up the ah-some work!.. would you kindly?

this looks wicked cool umo

I still haven’t beaten the first one and not even touched the second one.

But I’m really liking the art direction of Infinite.

Total shit.

MOVE ON GODDAMNIT Bioshock 2 was total shit, i regret spending money on it.

It always gets worse with sequels, take F.E.A.R for an instance, first one was awesome, the expansion packs were awesome too. The second one was a small scaled disgrace. And now they make the third one.
I didn’t like the story at all… according to ken, you’re supposed to save a chick ! How many times has that been done before ?

But that’s just my opinion…

The second one wasn’t made by the same company as the first that’s why, this one is. You can also tell this will be good because if they were just hoping to get cheap sales they wouldn’t have designed a whole new world and just recycled rapture.

Reminds me of a certain valve game when you put it like that. :freeman:

based in the sky? this sounds like it’s a load of ‘hot air’ to me lol

i agree with you ipwn,

i am so tired of playing games where the main goal of the entire game is to save some chick. Half Life gets by because your goal isn’t JUST to keep her safe. your saving the entire fucking world. Maybe even the entire universe!

BioShock1: Bored right after you capture that first girl
Bioshock2: Bored when i pressed start
BioShock3: Bioshock 1 & 2 except in the sky this time.

The only games i have never seen NOT go TOO far with sequels and just make utter crap after the second is Half-Life, Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto, and
Wolfenstein - ***Excluding the new one. that one just sucked > :frowning: ***

I figured the girl was there for the sake of not feeling like a lone soldier which has been done a million times too. I’ve read articles saying that her interactions are like L4D in that they are randomized and based on circumstances.

You assume that the girl is a damsel in distress but it seems to come off to me as more of a side kick with a damsel in distress storyline. At that point it comes down to if her ai sucks.

Having a person there who survived the catastrophe help tell the story is a different and refreshing turn from old bioshocks where it was simply through audio diaries mostly. As a game play element this could potential lend it self to co-op which I always look forward to.

I just hated the GTA series. I wouldn’t mind the fact that it was made in Britain (for a change) but, gore, expletives and drugs everywhere you look… No way, Jose!

On a lighter note, iPwn is the first negative argument I have seen for this game. Fair enough; I see your point, but there is a game where you have to save a woman, and you play as another woman: Mirror’s Edge. That is a good game. They’re making a second one as we speak.

1st off your goal in almost any game is to save the world. Legend of zelda, assassians creed, ninja gaiden, fallout, oblivion, halo, hell even bioshock your trying to stop atlas from going to surface and kill everything. ergo your argument that bioshock sucks on that point is invalid.

2nd. every game you mention (with the possible exception of half life) is a game where all you do is point and click and shoot. so i have to assume that, 1. the reason you hate bioshock is because you cant beat it without using some tactics and intelligence to your fighting(both of which you apparently don’t like too do.) and 2. that you like to bone dogs(although i could just be making that one up so…)

Did you even play Half Life?

sorry bout the double post.

i think that this new bioshock is going to be amazing.

when i heard irrational was making a new game i was hoping for a original ip but the fact that they are taking one of my newest favorite game series and taking it in a different direction is beautiful.

although according the the article you posted this game doesn’t sound like its a prequel or sequel so im wondering how its going to tie into the series.

But ken Levine is heading it up so really, all there is to do is wait for a good game

They just had to do it, didn’t they? They just could resist the opportunity. The first game was good. The second game not all that necessary, but added a very interest perspective. The new game…WTF. The series has already finished, dammit! All the little sisters were rescued (or harvested for those twisted people), and Rapture was pretty much completely fucked at the end of the second game. So what do they do? They make a new game with a completely new and unnecessary setting, and pull the most extreme makeover: home edition that I have ever seen. Why couldn’t the leave the series in peace? Why are these guys compelled to ruin it? Bioshock 2 was a damn good game, but it border-lined on ridiculous. So the new game is bound to be an upset in some capacity. One question I have: ADAM comes from slugs on the ocean floor, so what equivalent are these guys going to put thousands of feet up in the sky?

TBH I really only think that they slapped the bioshock name (and some traits of it) in there as an after thought, more sales because of the name.

Boo hoo waaahhh…

Unnecessary bawwww.

The originators of the series are coming back to set things straight. If you don’t like it, fuck off. It’s happening.

Sure it’s continuing mostly for money, but at least they’re obviously trying.
