Best Single Player HL2 mods?

Hey guys, I was wondering on your opinions of what are the best released SP mods for HL2 out there that are expansions of the universe and HL gameplay?

I’ve already played a lot, so I was just wondering on what I may have missed out on, or things that don’t look like they are worth a download, etc. (Mods with HL1 monsters are always nice too :slight_smile: )

Yeah, “Research & Development” is a very god mod, but I also recommend “Dangerous World” and soon “Dangerous World 2”. Good level design, story fits well with Half-Life 2 and episodes, all in all a very good mod!

Wouldn’t recommend Dangerous World since their last update, still broken and now with crappy weapon skins!. > :frowning:

Half-Life 2: Mission Improbable (Part 2 of 3 released)
Human Error
MINERVA: Metastasis
Random Quest
Reaseach and Development

An interesting one was Half-Life 2: Calamity. It just completely cut out Half-Life and took Gordon straight into City 17…huh.

There are so many of these threads now.

MINERVA: Metastasis is still one of the best. Also worthy of note:

Mission Improbable
Research and Development
Joutomaa Redux
Mistake of Pythagoras (if you like really bizarre and abstract mods that are still awesome)
Dangerous World
Human Error (it’s good, though it has a distinct homebrewed feel)
Offshore (really long with good moments)
Rock 24 (I don’t like it, but a lot of people seem to)
Union
Eye of the Storm (another one I personally don’t care for, but which is wildly popular)
Dear Esther (playitnowplayitnowplayitnowPLAYITNOWPLAYITNOW)

NUTHER EDIT: If you don’t enjoy being face-raped by mods, I would avoid anything by Leon/SPYmaps (Leon’s Map Pack 1, Coastline to Atmosphere, Strider Mountain, Final Project Diary) and think twice about anything by Chris Fox, particularly the Day 11/12/13/14 whatever numbers they are.

My current favourite is Titan XCIX Part ONE, it’s really good. But, then again, I’m a Sci-Fi nerd.
